Inland Pacific Ballet returned to the Fox Performing Arts Center this weekend with its annual production of The Nutcracker, marking the company’s 31st year bringing the holiday classic to Riverside audiences. With a large professional cast, dozens of academy dancers, and a full orchestra of visual spectacle, the production once again transformed the Fox into a world of toy soldiers, swirling snow, enchanted creatures, and dreamlike fantasy.

The curtain is about to rise on Inland Pacific Ballet’s The Nutcracker at the Fox Performing Arts Center.

Story of the Year, Senses Fail, and Armor for Sleep Bring the Scream Team Tour to Riverside

The Scream Team Tour stopped at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium on December 13, bringing out a packed crowd of loyal fans ready for a stacked night of post hardcore. The lineup of Story of the Year, Senses Fail, and Armor for Sleep drew fans of all ages, from people who grew up with these bands to younger fans seeing them live for the first time. Plenty of people in the room had already caught this tour before and came back for another show, which said a lot before the night even got started.

Downtown Riverside, one Old Fashioned at a time.

During Festival of Lights season, it’s easy to wander, take photos, and move on. Over the last few weeks, I did something different. I stepped inside.

From The State to Wolfskill, The Lobby to Proabition, and even a few unexpected turns inside the Mission Inn, I ordered the default Old Fashioned, then asked a question. What followed were conversations, upgrades, off menu pours, and a reminder that the best drinks aren’t just made, they’re shared.

There’s no winner here. The real win is supporting the local bars that keep downtown alive long after the lights come down.

Act Out Enrichment’s production of “Grease” opened at The Box Theater this week, filling the space with teen energy, diner chrome, and that familiar mix of swagger and vulnerability that keeps this musical alive across generations. Director Bethany Schultz’s note in the program sets the tone early, calling the film “a milestone in my musical theatre education,” and reminding audiences why these characters still resonate. Yung Gravy made a stop at the Observatory in Santa Ana while on The Voluptuous Voyage Tour on October 29 and completely packed the venue.
