Nite Ize coming in clutch again with the ability to piece together a micro EDC kit for just about anything--in this instance, it's designed for light duty daily purposes.

I wanted to be able to quickly throw this little kit in a bag or in a glove compartment. This kit starts with the RunOff Waterproof 3-1-1 pouch, the Radiant 100 keychain flashlight, the Medallion key carabiner (with a Chafon multi-charging magnetic keychain cable), the Nite Ize DoohicKey Ratchet Key Tool, and the DoohicKey Key Chain Knife rounding out the essentials.

This kit covers basic lighting, cutting, prying, bottle opening, tightening screws, and charging electronics. The waterproof bag has enough room left over to add plenty of essentials like nail clippers, hand sanitizer, emergency cash, keys, small first aid supplies, etc. You don't know what you need until you need it.

Small business owners:

Managing your own content creation and social media channels can be quite a drag. There's only so much time in the day, so consider delegating some of those time consuming tasks to someone else--like me, for example.

I'd like to offer you the opportunity to put your social media content on cruise control so you can focus on everything else. Whether you need me to take a totally hands on approach, or just create semi-regular content for you to schedule from time to time, I'd love to help you keep things fresh and interesting.

Let's chat!

I wanted to share a few pretty standard tips for how to survive a family photo session with small children... It's totally normal for children to be uninterested, or to have a short attention span--and hopefully your photographer has a little patience.

- I always suggest starting with the entire family/group, so you have that done while you have as much of their attention as you can get.

- After you've done the family group, peel away layers however you think will be most effective. You, the parents, can step out and we can focus on just the child/children, or you can rotate and have the kid(s) individually with each parent.

- Bring appropriate things to keep the kids occupied when they're not in front of the camera (or to keep their attention when they are). If it's cold, bring a blanket and/or jackets, hand warmers, etc. If it's warm, give them something to run around doing. Maybe something as simple as a bottle of bubbles? You know them best. I've found that it helps to do photos in a location that gives them a little bit of freedom to run around freely without getting out of your sight, obviously. That will help you to be relaxed when it's your turn to be in front of the camera.

- Finally, and arguably most importantly, make sure you get a few photos together as a couple. You're constantly photographing your kids, and if they're attending school or even playing sports, you're getting photos of them all the time... but who's taking photos of the two of you? Make it a point to take a few minutes to get a couple of professional photos of the two of you. You'll be glad you did!

I'll never forget Danielle & Thomas' beautiful wedding at The Southern Dream in Gibson, NC! Everything came together so beautifully, and it was such an honor to be part of their big day at such a gorgeous, quiet venue... I couldn't dream of having a better team of vendors to work with!

As I mentioned yesterday, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to partner up with Allett Wallets to try some of their products out. I spent the day carrying the nylon edition Hybrid Card Wallet (in Cala Green) with their Micro Pen in the spine--and I really like it so far! The pen gives just enough rigidity and weight to the spine of the wallet that I almost feel like it needs since it's so lightweight and thin. You don't want your pants sagging from the weight of your wallet, but I think there's also some grey area where you need to know that it's in your pocket, and I think the pen and a few cards make a nice balance.

There are two card sleeves on the left interior, the clear ID window on the right side for your drivers license or most used credit card, and a nice little pocket on the exterior. The website says this card wallet can carry up to 10 cards at a time, along with the micro pen. I think 10 might defeat the purpose of going to more of a minimal wallet like this, but it can do it if you need to. I'd prefer to carry just a few debit and credit cards, my drivers license, and a little folded cash just in case--which, by the way, is SO important these days! We're one cyber attack or hardware failure away from being in a really bad spot, and having a little bit of emergency cash on you can go a long way. While we're on that topic, don't forget that these wallets are RFID blocking as well--so you don't have to worry about getting your cards jacked.

All in all, I have to say the quality is definitely a pleasant surprise. We'll see how they hold up over time, but I don't have any doubts that they can take all the abuse you can throw at them.

Huge thank you to Allett Wallets for the opportunity for today! I'm always ecstatic to get anything in the mail, and it's even better when it comes on a Sunday! 😆

This is the their RFID blocking leather Hybrid Card Wallet in hazel brown on the right, their nylon edition RFID blocking Hybrid Card Wallet in Cala Green on the left--and a couple of their micro pen's sprinkled in for good measure.
