As winter settles in, I’m drawn back to those vibrant autumn mornings—fog lifting off Heart Lake, dramatic clouds over the McIntyre Range, and peak foliage finally captured after years of chasing. These moments make me feel most alive.

Autumn Adirondack moments like this, captured Saturday morning at Heart Lake as the fog lifted and clouds danced around Colden, Algonquin, Wright, and Iroquois. The kind of day that makes you feel giddy just to be there — these are the autumn days we need to make the most of. 🏔️

☀️: 64°F and perfect!
🍂 : Reds, oranges & yellows brightening while greens remain.
😎 : Autumn magic in the air 🍂

Colors vary dramatically across the area — expect lots more yellows and oranges on the slopes in the coming days! A lot more yellows and oranges are already showing outside of the ski trails.

Had to share these from my Adirondacks drive yesterday—peak foliage is here, and fall is my happy place! 🍂🍁 ⛰️

Stormy skies make the colors pop even more. The reds, yellows, and oranges looked absolutely stunning against those moody clouds.

Fall has arrived in the Adirondacks—don’t blink.🍁🍂

This weekend- most likely marks the end of my 2025 High Peaks hiking season.

Before heading home, I woke up to a 27° morning—frost clinging to the ground and Whiteface glowing over the first colors of fall.

Reds are fiery, with oranges and yellows just beginning their shift. Autumn’s show is only starting. 🍁🍂 🏔️ (Photo Date: 09/21/25)
