This spring, Michigan PTA advocates brought their voices to Lansing to speak up for the students, families, and schools across our state.

Meeting with state legislators, our members focused on key priorities that impact our communities every day:
✔️ Increased and equitable school funding for all Michigan students
✔️ Expanded access to school-based mental health resources
✔️ Policies that support safe and healthy learning environments
✔️ Stronger family engagement initiatives across districts

These conversations matter. By sharing real stories and experiences from our schools, Michigan PTA is helping shape policies that support every child’s success.

Thank you to all of our dedicated advocates who showed up, spoke out, and made a difference in Lansing. 💙📚

As part of our time in Washington, D.C., Michigan PTA members proudly stood alongside National PTA to share clear priorities with our legislators—because every child deserves the support they need to thrive.

We urged Congress to:
✔️ Fully fund public education and Title I programs to ensure equitable opportunities for all students
✔️ Increase access to school-based mental health resources and support services
✔️ Strengthen school safety initiatives that protect students and staff
✔️ Invest in family engagement programs that empower parents as partners in education

These aren’t just policy points—they’re real needs we see in our schools and communities every day.

Advocacy works when we speak up together. Thank you to our Michigan PTA advocates and National PTA leaders for making sure our voices are heard on Capitol Hill. 💙📚

New episode of The Matriarchy Podcast is out now 🎙️

We sit down with Michigan PTA leadership to talk about what it really takes to strengthen public education through advocacy, community leadership, and collective action.

This conversation also explores something often overlooked: the unpaid labor of women—the organizing, caregiving, volunteering, and emotional work that has quietly shaped and sustained our public schools for generations.

If we want to understand public education today, we have to understand the work happening behind the scenes and the people doing it.
