A moment for ✨Kiara✨

I hadn’t been to the local botanical garden in a hot minute and I was so excited to go back! We were dodging prom and senior picture takers like crazy but that’s okay because I get it, it was such a beautiful day and backdrop!

with was on this one, as well for videography 😎🎥

We got to flit through the shrubbery like little fairies 🧚 they also included their doggo in the ceremony which I always ADORE, and I also caught them in a cute game of rock paper scissors which cracked me up — maybe I’ll post those soon, too 🥰

It’s getting steamy down here in south Texas! And I still am on hold for summer sessions and fairly booked through fall but please don’t hesitate to still reach out! I can usually be convinced 🤪 hope everyone is staying cool and having an incredible and fun summer!

Finally got to visit a few Carolina beaches in March and April and I have to admit they might be some of my favorite in the Continental US 😅🤭

The sunrises were unmatched and the beaches and waves were gorgeous.

HUGE shoutout to Tierra and Tyreese for trusting me and especially Tierra for getting up crazy early while PREGGO to get ready and make it to our shoot for sunrise.

I was actually originally booked and supposed to capture their wedding in April but plans changed and they ended up eloping and then had another adorable surprise by the time our shoot came around 🤭 plans evolve and I’m always up for pivoting because I know life happens! They were such a joy and honestly I had the best time running around Kure Beach in North Carolina with them for their photo session.

I’ve spent so much time visiting and exploring on the west coast, I’ve been missing out on the gorgeous east coast beaches! I can’t wait to explore more Atlantic coasts :)

Some fun travels coming up soon! ✈️ hope everyone is having a gorgeous start to their spring 🌼

As we go into April in a few days I wanted to share this adorable and fun April beach ceremony Michael caught last year out at Ropes Park on the shoreline out in Corpus Christi. This is actually a much smaller park and I would say I’ve ever seen it super crowded — it’s not great for swimming and the sand is super rocky but the steps down the (baby) cliff and the seclusion off the road makes it perfect for a little microwedding 🫶

Michael is one of our lead associate shooters and obsessed with how he captures details so perfectly and artistically. The details and colors on this wedding were amazing and everything flowed so well. I love the cooler colors accented with the warm wood tones and even the water color cooperated that day (as anyone who’s ever been to a Texas beach knows one day it can be perfect turquoise and the next 💩 brown because of wind and waves 😅😂) to combine to give some gorgeous photos for these two to look back on.

Our March was fairly busy and April is almost completely full! I’m looking to kick it into high gear here pretty soon.

Happy Spring, y’all! 🌷

We’re just going to ignore her ring tan on the second slide, okay 😅 I’ll fix it on the final album 🤣 I’M DOIN MY BEST HERE ALRIGHT GUYS I don’t have the mental energy to fix that for a social post atm lol

Anyway back to Bri + Jay — GORGEOUS intimate micro-wedding on a dreamy drizzly day out south of Birmingham, AL tucked away in the pines 🫶 love their details and inclusion of the things that really mattered to them. Like Jay’s grandparents ashes in their necklace and their friends as the flower boys, and pizza for dinner 🍕😜 also one of the best cakes I’ve had in a while, I’ll be so honest 🍓🍰 thanks so much for having me out, guys! I had a blast

Another fun fact is that the owner of this property also owns a publishing house and is part of the wedding band! Living the freakin dream I love that for him.

Congrats, again Bri + Jay! 🫶🤎🏳️‍🌈

In honor of heading back to for another engagement this evening, posting these gorgeous shots from a few months ago on an amazing fall incredible weather day in the Texas hill country ☀️

I’ve been to Pedernales Falls many times for personal and professional purposes and it’s different every time :) sometimes there’s no water, sometimes it’s flowing over the rocks, sometimes there’s a ton of people and sometimes it’s dead like we got lucky with on this session!

Fun fact I usually don’t charge travel for anything in the austin area and don’t mind popping up for engagement or other bridal sessions. I lived many many years in south austin and then bastrop and Elgin and have family and friends all over the area from Fredericksburg to Bastrop to Leander to San Marcos. Gives me a good excuse to go visit 🥰🫶

Happy Wednesday, folks! If you are having a wedding in 2025, get those vendors booked! I’m booking as far out as fall 2026 so our calendars are filling up super fast. Reach out if you have questions or interest in booking an amazing wedding photography team ☺️✨💍

Obsessed with this quick weekday ceremony we did at a few months back!! Honestly one of my favorite venues in South Texas because of the adorable chapel, cute and cozy getting ready spaces, it’s family owned and they have quite a few incredible spots for pictures! Amazing dramatic lighting, whether in the indoor spaces, outside under the mesquite trees or open fields in front of the chapel 💒

It was only their immediate family and a couple friends and those are often my favorite kind of celebrations. It always feels very intimate and intentional. Congrats to A+J after a long engagement, I’m so happy and honored to be a part of the final celebration 💍

In another note, intentionality and presence of mind is something I’m focusing on a lot this year — in my sessions, in my life, in my planning, etc. As humans we’re constantly trying to evolve and morph into better humans, right, and that looks different to all of us based on priority.

In my professional life this has really manifested as saying no. I really pour a lot of heart and soul into what I do and I’ve realized it’s okay to say you’re drained, but in business I think we also need to recognize our own mistakes and pivot to evolve and realize how we can approach situations in the future so maybe you don’t feel as drained or maybe you are better prepared for those moments. 2023 and 2024 were AMAZING learning years for this little business of mine and I truly feel so excited for the future. It wasn’t perfect, it had bumps along the way but nothing great ever came easily so let’s hop back on the horse and get movin’ again 🙂

I always tell people just starting their businesses that no one else is special, no one else is necessarily more equipped than you and if they are you can get there too with enough perseverance and self education. No one is better than you, no one is super human. The people who succeed are just the ones too stubborn to quit.

What are we feeling about those “end of night” shots? Tbh — I love them 😂 it gives me a little moment to go around and gather a few details from the night that I feel like I’ve noticed add to the essence of the night and my couple’s personality! Things they’ve obviously chosen to be part of their day and celebration 🎉

I’ll be honest I’ve gotten a few weird looks when other guests see me grabbing empty beer cans/cups out of the trash or obviously abandoned pieces of half-eaten cake 😂 but whatever. Anything for the shot, right? It’s also a fun time to play with lighting and flash! What do y’all think?

I wish I could tell you guys I’m here to post more often but, I’m just not, I’m sorry 😅 social media is exhausting to me— life be lifin’ and at the end of the day, I just like taking pretty pictures. I will try my best to showcase some of the beautiful ceremonies and shoots I’ve had the honor of being a part of recently! I have thousands of pictures I want to share and then get caught up feeling the way the sunshine and wind hits my face when I’m driving along the beach with all my windows down, blaring old 2000’s hip-hop while drinking sweet tea and eating a chicken nugget and I forget to post them

Just a tease from cannon beach 🤎 forgot to post these haystack rock cuties (per usual 🫠)

As a wedding photographer sometimes I think we feel pressured to use our camera flash more (and don’t get me wrong, we should all know it for sure) to get those super crisp lines and super balanced shadows. But lately I find myself being reminded that all my favorite photos are natural lighting and that’s absolutely the style my soul calls me to. The pictures aren’t always technically *perfect,* the lines aren’t always so crisp you can cut them with a knife.

But I like it. It feels real and authentic and marries with the surroundings and background and doesn’t take away from the mood and feeling of the occasion.

I’ve been to a couple events recently where the lighting has been SUPER distracting and almost borderline blinding. It felt intrusive. And sometimes I feel the same way when I have to use flash indoors (heh, receptions). Which is why honestly I try to limit and be extremely intentional about my reception shots.

Don’t get me wrong, I love an intentional flash photo when it’s purposeful and fun. But I’ll be a natural lighting baby til I die

Omg it’s WEDDING DAYYYYY!!!! For Rachel + Devin 😭😭😭 and the busiest weekend / day of my entire year (possibly photography career 😅)

This one is super special to me because Rachel is my best friend’s baby sister and I’ve known her since she was EIGHT YEARS OLDDDD 🤯 She’s had that same bubbly smile and laugh (you can almost hear it through the pictures can’t ya) her entire freakin’ life and I’m so honored to capture her dreamy whimsical wedding today in 🥲🫶🧚‍♀️ (we read the same faerie fantasy s**t soooo I can’t wait to see her dream come to life)

We did their engagement pics in and damn the greenery and Spanish moss everywhere made me so jealous. I love this part of Louisiana because it just oozes fun and culture and spice, bayby! 🦞🐊🔮 New Orleans is like Vegas — in that every visit is vastly different and yet all the same 😂

When I was going through this album to make this post, I also realized I had so few of Devin looking at the camera hahahah and that’s probably how most of my engagements go because, to be fair there’s a large portion of grooms that aren’t *all* too into pictures, so, who better to focus on and forget about the camera than staring at your beautiful partner? When in doubt, just look at them. You’re cute, too, Dev, but she’s cuter 😜

I have a few other weddings scattered across Texas, as well, today that some of my amazing associates and colleagues are covering for me! I can’t wait to see what they capture!! 📸
