Nature's fireworks on the 4th of July 🎆

On this morning, I was scheduled to photograph a race in Shirland, IL, but Mother Nature nearly delayed my departure. A gorgeous shelf cloud was approaching, and it was hard to tear myself away from the rooftop to get in the car.

Once I finally made it in the car, I was treated to quite the scenic drive.

Wowww... what a beauty... WHAT A BEAUTY! 🌪️

I missed the anniversary yesterday, but this is a day I'll never forget.

On May 31, 2010, I witnessed this absolutely breathtaking tornado near Campo, Colorado 🌪️

At that point, it was the most beautiful tornado I had ever seen, and even all these years later, it remains near the top of the list. Standing there, completely in awe, I had tears in my eyes. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing.

Every once in a while, life gives you a moment of absolute clarity, a moment that reminds you exactly who you are and where you belong. For me, this was one of those moments. It wasn't just about seeing a tornado. It was about feeling a connection to something that had fascinated me for as long as I can remember.

In that instant, I knew I was chasing more than storms. I was chasing a passion that would become a lifelong part of me. Over 20 years of chasing the sky, that feeling hasn't faded. If anything, it has only grown stronger.

Some moments become memories. Others become part of who you are. This was one of those moments ❤️
