On this day -April 3, 2007: MCTV posts its first video to the Montgomery College YouTube page, a clip of a group of Montgomery College World Ensemble students, The Soulutions. performing "Takin' It Easy." The group consisted of Jermaine Swaby, composer and lead vocalist; Willie Gammel, electric guitar; Alexis Magdalena, percussion; Jay Katzenberger, bass; and Diana Downey, violin. The MC YouTube page now has more than 11 million views and 28,000 subscribers. #MC75 #MCProud #MCHistory

#tbt- October 27, 1992: The Homer S. Gudelsky Institute for Technical Education (GITE) is dedicated on the Rockville Campus. Maryland Governor William Donald Schaefer is among the speakers. Mrs. Martha Gudelsky, widow of Homer Gudelski, the noted philanthropist and area developer, cuts the ceremonial ribbon to open the building. A public-private joint venture, GITE has provided state-of-the-art technical education and training for more than 25 years, offering instructional programs in four primary areas: automotive technology, building and construction technology, digital fabrication, and workforce technologies. #MC75 #MCProud #MCHistory
