My Life in Christ: The LIfe & Teaching of Saint John of Kronstadt
https://patristicnectar.org/bookstore...
Patristic Nectar Publications is pleased to present a new 9-part lecture series entitled My Life in Christ: The Life and Teaching of St. John of Kronstadt. This series consists of two parts. The first consists of four thematic lectures given in 2022 by Fr. Josiah to the St. John Chrysostom Catechetical School in Riverside, Ca. The second part of this series is five talks given by His Grace, Bishop Basil of Wichita, at a men’s retreat in Kansas in 2008. St. John of Kronstadt, the Wonder-Worker, served God in Russia during the second half of the 19th century and fell asleep in Christ in 1908. His life, miracles, and teaching have been cherished by believers as God’s love gift to the Church and to the world on the cusp of the 20th century, the most violent century in the history of humanity. These lectures and discussions reveal the beauty of a life lived supremely in and for Jesus Christ the Lord.

Suddenly "be not afraid" makes sense... This video depicts (in order) Cherubim, Ophanim, and Seraphim. We aren't sure who made this animation, but it is certainly more biblically accurate than most of what we see in western art and culture.
Cheribum: These creatures have four faces, and are described in Ezekiel 1:15-16 as such: "As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces.
Ophanim: This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like topaz, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel." 'And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes round about, even the wheels that they four had."
Seraphim: And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say,“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.”

☦️ An important instruction about Confession ☦️
"There are such people who go to confession, but hide their sins from the priest because of false shame. These people risk to get caught at the second toll-house. Such false shame takes usually place because the person is afraid that the priest, whom he knows well and with whom he already established a good and close contact, is going to start thinking worse of him, after having heard all the scary sins that the person has committed. In fact, such a thought comes from the devil. In reality, everything usually occurs in the opposite way: if the priest feels that the confession is insincere, he may become cold towards that person, whereas when the priest sees that the person trusts him fully and tells him everything at confession, he starts to feel compassion towards the sinner."

Sermon of Father Seraphim Holland:
There are two worldviews: the spiritual and the carnal, the way of life, and the way of death; the way of peace and the way of fear. Both ways are in evidence, outside and inside the church, and in ourselves. Our human and personal tendency to choose the way of death is the greatest enemy we have in this life, and we must fight that enemy with a spiritual violence.

Long before the man of iniquity will appear and his mark will be implanted in those who lack any love for the Truth, his spirit will rise over the world and it will even be embraced by prominent men in clerical dress. The enemy of man's salvation works incrementally, patiently associating with, then dialoguing with, then infiltrating and finally obtaining internal submission from those who love the world and all that is within it. The extent of his success can be measured by the degree of assimilation of his spirit, which by another name is secularism, worldliness, Cross-less "Christianity," bereft of ascetic struggle, an opponent of the prophetic voice of the Saints, a stranger to the narrow way, at the service of this world.
The enemy is a liar and an ape of God. He has no originality but mimics what he sees the Lord doing. He strives to create his own Ekklesia, a pseudo-Church, with pseudo-bishops and pseudo-theologians, and he fashions a "traditional" movement which is on the cutting edge of the overturning of Holy Tradition in the Church, all in order to forge a "unity of religions" in spirit and outlook. The enemy knows the worth of symbolism and rites and he uses them well in order to communicate his messages subtly, almost imperceptibly, at least to those who are spiritually subdued.
It is imperative that all lovers of Christ and His Church remain watchful and prayerful, mindful of the days, which are evil, and the signs of the times allowed by God for His faithful.
