After answering a Craigslist Ad in 2012 and filming my very first wedding, Phillip Benz Productions was created and I was hooked. Since that day, I have gone on to help over 300 couples re-live their dream weddings and businesses, both big and small, recruit new talent and fulfill their marketing needs. Video is more than just holding a camera and editing, it’s about storytelling and connecting with the audience in a way that brings them in wanting more.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared anything wedding-related 💍✨ As many of you know, I’ve stepped back from wedding filmmaking—though I still make a few exceptions. Today is one of those 🎬

I’m excited to release Jeshuah and Ashlynde’s wedding trailer 🎞️

Calling it windy would be an understatement—it felt like a hurricane without the rain 🌬️💨 But that didn’t stop these two or their families from celebrating in full force 🥂💃

Everything took place at Ashlynde’s childhood home 🏡 and that setting, along with the people, is what made the day so unforgettable 🤍

Finally dropping the highlight reel from the 2025 NASB Madness Tournament at the Charlotte Hornets Arena!

Jordan Smith with North American Senior Benefits reached out about capturing this epic team-building event—and it didn’t disappoint. Agents from multiple teams I work with, including PlanRight Financial, Lionhart Financial Group, and Team No Limits, laced up and went head-to-head on an actual NBA court.

Lionhart took home the trophy, but the real win was watching everyone show up, compete, and have a blast doing it.

Still wild to me how far a camera has taken me—and how many incredible people I’ve met just by doing what I love.

17hrs later and I’m back home from todays shoot. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought this grimy little skate punk in high school would be coordinating a full blown lifestyle and air to air shoot for the 3rd largest private jet operator in the US.

The amount of detail that went into today is mind blowing. 5 pilots, 3 sets of talent, 3 vehicles ranging from a G Wagon to an Aston Martin, the cutest pup in the world named mulligan, wardrobe changes, full behind the scenes production, a designated drone operator, a chase plane, safety riggers, and of course the star of the show - the Challenger 350.

This one photo taken by my creative director says it all. This was the very last talent shot of the day and we could not have planned for a more beautiful backdrop. THATS A WRAP! So much more to come 🎥

Our Story

I still can't believe that almost 7 years ago Benz Productions started by answering a Craigslist ad for someone needing a wedding videographer. Flash forward to now, I’m still evolving and learning every single day and it never gets old.

My name is Phillip Benz, owner and operator of Benz Productions. We recently left North Carolina and relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia. That being said, most of my work is still in NC but I do offer my services worldwide.

The thing that draws me to weddings is the fact that I’m telling a story of one of the happiest days of a couple’s life. I’m able to use my creativity to help this couple, their friends and their families, remember this day in a way they never could have remembered otherwise. I take a lot of pride in my work and I give it my all on a wedding day.
