đŠđ„ Australia once lost a war⊠to emus.
Date: November 1932
Location: Western Australia
Australia once went to war against⊠emus. Yes, the big flightless birds.
After WWI, Australian veterans were given farmland in the outback. But soon, over 20,000 emus started invading the fields, trampling crops, and generally being huge, chaotic nuisances.
The government deployed soldiers armed with machine guns to handle the "emu problem." The result?
Total embarrassment.
Emus ran in unpredictable zig-zag patterns.
The guns jammed.
The birds outran trucks.
Only a few hundred birds were taken down after thousands of bullets.
Eventually, the military withdrew, defeated by birds. The emus won.
đ Lesson: Donât charge into problems with firepowerâtry understanding them first.
Know your problemâeven if it's a bird.
