Chasing the Checkered is a racing blog featuring driver interviews and racing news across all divisions of professional racing, whether that be the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Camping World Truck Series, ARCA, K&N or even Indycar racing. Most driver features/interviews are focused on up & coming drivers and all content is geared toward the younger demographic of racing fans. Chasing the Checkered also features monthly NASCAR giveaways and a local driver spotlight.

Take your pick -- Big races happening this weekend all over the state! 🏁

We are excited to head North to Speedway Presented by Bar Harbor Bank & Trust for the first time this season on Saturday, where Dan Jr. will be back behind the wheel of the #40 Street Stock as part of the R&R Raceparts Street Stock Open!

After going Super Late Model racing all season, it's time to have a little fun and return to our roots.

There is more than just a trophy on the line, as the Jeff Wentworth, Sr. Memorial Street Stock 75 is also a $1,563-to-win race.

The Street Stock race is just one part of a loaded program that Speedway is hosting this weekend, as the main event is the Granite State Pro Stock Series' Stan Meserve Classic.

In addition to the Pro Stocks and Street Stocks, the Roadrunners and Crown Vics will also be joining the program.

It all kicks off at 2:00 pm on Saturday afternoon, and grandstand admission is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors/veterans, $5 for kids ages 6-15 and FREE for kids 6 and under.

It'll be well worth it to make the trek North to cheer on the Naughty 40 Racing team, so bring the whole family up to Speedway on Saturday for an entire day of exciting racing action!

2 big race weekends on the way to close out the 2026 season at Speedway Presented by Bar Harbor Bank & Trust! 🏁

Following a couple of weeks of rest and relaxation, we are jumping right back into the swing of things on Saturday at Speedway Presented by Bar Harbor Bank & Trust with our friend Cassius Clark behind the wheel of the #18 machine!

Cassius, a former PASS North and PASS National champion, is undoubtedly one of the best to do it in the Northeast and Canada.

The $4,000-to-win Granite State Pro Stock Series Stan Meserve Classic 128 is the perfect opportunity to bring the #18 JDM team to Victory Lane as Cassius is a former Oxford 250 champion, 5-time winner of the Atlantic CAT 250 and 3-time winner of the 250 at Speedway 660.

36 of the most talented drivers in New England are already pre-registered for the event, which kicks off on Saturday at 2:00 pm, and will feature time trials to decide the starting lineup for the main event.

In addition to the Granite State Pro Stock Series, Saturday's program will also include the Crown Vics, Road Runners and the R&R Raceparts Street Stock Tour.

Grandstand admission is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors/veterans, $5 for kids ages 6-15 and FREE for kids 6 and under.

Bring the whole family out to Speedway this weekend and see some of the best Pro Stock drivers battling it out for the victory with $4,000 on the line!

Saturday was a great way to kick off the season rundown at Wiscasset Speedway LLC, with Group 1 champions being crowned!

While some divisions like the 4-Cylinder Pros and 207 Crate Modifieds were wrapped up (or nearly-so) entering Saturday, the point battles in the Pro Stocks, Thunder 4 Minis and Strictly Streets came down to the wire, with great battles across the board.

It was surely a fast-paced and fun night at the track, and I can't wait to do it all again this coming Saturday, September 26th with all Group 2 divisions PLUS the annual Strictly Shootout.
