Chasing the Checkered CTC is an online editorial that features handcrafted local race recaps, news, giveaways and more.

Chasing the Checkered is a racing blog featuring driver interviews and racing news across all divisions of professional racing, whether that be the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Camping World Truck Series, ARCA, K&N or even Indycar racing. Most driver features/interviews are focused on up & coming drivers and all content is geared toward the younger demographic of racing fans. Chasing the Checkered also features monthly NASCAR giveaways and a local driver spotlight.

Doing these features is fun because you get to learn more about these drivers that you’ve known for years — good luck to Frank and the crew in 2026! 🏁

Frank Moulton persevered in 2025 after his car got destroyed during the season, forcing his team to start back at square one.

He made a solid comeback to round out the year, ending the season with one win, 2 top 3's, 6 top 5's and 8 top 10 finishes, resulting in a fifth-place finish in the point standings.

Frank is looking forward to making forward progress in 2026 and will make his season debut as part of the Group 2 season opener on Saturday, April 25th!

For the first time in a while, we will be doing a Chasing the Checkered apparel order!

Adult sizes XS-2x are available in both t-shirts and hoodies.

Black is currently unavailable in sizes over 2x but there are other color options as well - for these sizes only.

T-Shirts will be $20 a piece while hoodies will be $40 a piece (minimum order of 10 of each required) and it will be a $2 up-charge for sizes 2x and above.

Money will need to be received prior to ordering and you can send payment via PayPal ([email protected]) or Venmo () once we meet the minimum order number.

It’s been fun being able to cover Scott’s racing journey at both Beech Ridge and Wiscasset Speedway LLC. Good luck to the #27 team this season! 🏁

2025 was a standout year for longtime Wiscasset Speedway competitor Scott Eck, who closed out the season with 1 win, 3 top 3's, 5 top 5's and 8 top 10's in the highly competitive Strictly Streets division, landing him fifth in points.

He's looking forward to returning to the division in 2026 and joked that his main goal is to beat out his teammate and friend Mac Hannan, Jr. every week.

Chasing the Checkered is happy to announce that for the first time ever, we will be offering a social media package to drivers that would like a professional boost on their own social media platforms in addition to the Chasing the Checkered website/pages.

For the first-year rollout, these services will be available to Wiscasset Speedway LLC drivers only, with the option to expand to other tracks in the future.

Knowing the many costs that drivers and teams incur during the race season, the goal is to provide these services at an affordable rate, so the cost of the package is $50 per race with a waived cost for rainouts.

Longtime Wiscasset Speedway competitor Logan Melcher brought the house down in 2025 when he won the coveted Boss Hogg 150 in exciting fashion.

Nick Morton had a solid season in 2025, winning "Rookie of the Year" honors in the Late Models after scoring one top 5 finish, five top 10 finishes, one heat win and sixth in the points.

He is look forward to returning to the division this year with a brand-new Late Model and has big goals in mind.

Nick Hinkley had quite the year in 2025, winning the Pro Stock championship title, September Driver of the Month and the coveted Driver of the Year award.

He's back for more in 2026, where he'll be taking things up a notch.

I’m very proud to be one of the many women in the Team Wiscasset family and I enjoy seeing drivers like Maddy Herrick Racing #95 getting it done on the track every week! 🏁

Today is International Women's Day and here at Wiscasset Speedway, we are proud to have many women in our Team Wiscasset family!

From Vanessa Jordan leading the helm, to the countless women in racing operations from fan promotions to marketing to the front gate to concessions to the pits - we have quite the team!

There are also a handful of talented ladies out on the track every weekend, including the likes of Taylor Lane, Faith Cleaves, Amara Parker, Nicole Benincasa, Karigan Glasier, Chassidy Shorty, Makayla Webber and the 2025 Super Streets "Rookie of the Year", Maddy Herrick.

Learn more about Maddy, who will be making her series debut in the Late Models on Group 2 Opening Day on Saturday, April 25th!
