Meet General Mattis, a 1.5-year-old golden doodle and hero handled by Chief Matt Alves 🐾💙 Chief Alves is also our Division Chief for our therapy dog placement program for police departments 🚓 🐾.

Named in honor of USMC General Jim “Mad Dog” Mattis, his name pays tribute to the USMC service of one of Mattis’ donors’ family members.
and there dog Mattis and our fave k9 🖤

Mattis has a special gift for adapting to whatever the day brings — whether it’s joining morning walks or keeping pace with a busy workday with fellow officers and dispatch . He’s also known for his hilarious habit of hiding toys under desks or the copy machines in the office, waiting for someone to get them out… just so he can do it again! 🐾

When he’s not keeping everyone laughing, Mattis enjoys Himalayan dog chews, long walks, and visiting Dispatch. 🐶🦴

Honoring legends Mark & Mattis 💙🐾

H4H USA 🇺🇸 is deeply saddened by the passing of the great k9 … a hero who captivated the world 🌎 by his profound love and bond for each other. The shenanigans that made us all laugh to the heart felt love 🫶🏼 only a dog can give.

Mark you inspired us all by sharing the love, life and lessons with your best friend Mattis 🐾. Deeply moving us all so much we too needed a Mattis and he became our name sake for our little guy … we thank you for your support and kindness to our mission. Scooby’s got your favorite Kong waiting for you.

Meet Blaze and (Retired) hero handler firefighter paramedic Daniel Salois 🐾❤️ Dan is also our H4H USA 🇺🇸 chaplain and works part time at as a regional chaplain for them. He is a part of the peer support team for


Blaze is a 3.5-year-old golden doodle with a heart as golden as his curls. He was named by founder, Shelley Martell and has been an incredibly loving and obedient companion to the fire department and Daniel’s children, grandchild and their entire family.

Their bond is rooted in love, loyalty, and everyday moments that make Blaze such a special part of their lives. Blaze has a very special name sake Blaze Bear Bogard after his amazing sponsor who is a huge supporter to our heroes wellness we are grateful for her passion to this mission and love for dogs.

One of his quirkiest traits? The way he contours and twists his body when he sleeps—it’s a sight you can’t help but smile at.

His favorite things include chewing on Nyla bones and chasing after a ball, always full of energy and joy.

We’re so happy to spotlight this sweet boy and his beautiful bond with the Salois family. 🐾❤️🐕
