So Fulton-El Camino Recreation and Park District can’t afford a police department, but they can afford to pay Beth Johnson to impersonate a police officer while she makes over $300k YTD to work from home? Very troubling questions……

In honor of Fulton-El Camino Recreation and Park District’s meeting next Tuesday 11/12 at 6:30pm to discuss disbanding the Park Police, let’s talk about Leadership and Community Impact:

Under previous Chief’s leadership FEPD:
▪️Provided metrics driven, effective policing services focused around quality of life issues for our contracted districts, resulting in thousands of misdemeanor and felony prosecutions
▪️Developed an Investigations Division, and Problem Orientated Policing unit focused on targeted enforcement of issues that affect our community most directly
▪️Grew the personnel size of the agency to its largest, and increased contracted District partnership and revenue to an all time high
▪️Increased compliance, pushed for POST integration of the agency, and designated officers to attend POST FTO, Background, and Leadership certified courses
▪️Upgraded fleet services, and purchased newer patrol vehicles

Under Beth Johnson’s tenure FEPD:
▫️Reduced criminal prosecutions, reduced citations issued, and engaged in zero partnership with the District Attorney’s Office
▫️Removed Speciality divisions, and refused to allow those or any other positions to be backfilled
▫️Reduced the size of personnel to a Decade-long low
▫️In conjunction with Emily Ballus, froze progress on POST certification
▫️Encouraged contracted Districts to pursue other security options, pocketing almost identically the revenue reduced as personal compensation
▫️Has no access to one of the newest patrol vehicles because Beth drives it to and from work from the East Bay

If you question these absurdities like we do, please join on Tuesday and share your concerns with FECRPD’s Board there, or at [email protected]

Let’s talk transparency: facts matter, and truth matters!

FEC shared a Q&A page regarding policing services, which we’ve fact-checked. We feel our community has the right to know factually how their tax dollars are being utilized, how this affects them, and what options for impact we have.

The District would like our community to take on $24 Million in additional taxes to “improve our parks”

Translation: we’ve wildly mismanaged our money behind the back of you the taxpayer, and now would like to ask for a credit line increase you pay for

Our parks (which we love!) will become littered with needles, drug sales, and unhoused tent cities without Police to enforce laws and protect park-goers

But we can’t do that because the district would prefer to spend $300k on a police “leader” to work from home

Many people are asking what is Measure Q?

Measure Q is a $24.0 million General Obligation (G.O.) bond program. The measure is intended to address the district’s need to upgrade and renovate existing parks, grounds, and recreational facilities in the Fulton-El Camino Rec and Park District, while also providing new opportunities to residents.

Friends of FEC Park Police stands with Fulton El Camino Park Police Dept: we believe in the importance of true transparency with our community. FEPD fills a vital void in response time and quality of life improvement for those who enjoy our parks daily.

Stay tuned - much more transparent info to come!
