Sacramento State will be offering a new concentration on the practical applications of artificial intelligence in spring 2026, with its first students completing a trial run this semester.

Offered through the College of Business, one of Sac State’s most popular and impacted programs, the new artificial intelligence concentration is one of the first in the entire CSU system.

on Nov. 20, 2025 the has granted Sac State, along with other campuses, a one-time allocation of funds to accommodate 157 new course sections to be made available for Spring 2026, opening up 4,199 seats for students.
President Wood said the additional funds are being given due to the efforts of to increase student enrollment and improve student retention.

The Division I men’s and women’s West Regional Cross Country Championships took place at Sacramento’s own Golf Complex Friday, Nov. 14.

The women’s team ran 7 runners in the 6k race and placed 16th as a team, while the men’s team sent just one runner in the 10k race to come in at 104th individually. Click the link in our bio to read the rest of the recap.

addressed questions from students on Wednesday afternoon at a virtual town hall meeting. Wood responded to questions about the university’s budget cuts, facility needs, athletics and the upcoming housing requirement.

The hour-long Zoom meeting hosted 82 attendees, according to Sac State. Attendees could not share their screens or audio but could send questions in a private chat that Wood and his cabinet could view.

released a new housing policy on Aug. 21. Starting in fall 2026, first and second year students who live outside a 50 mile radius of campus, will be required to live on campus. We went around campus to find out how hornets feel about this new policy! 🏠🐝
