Talk about unexpected roommates! Several instances, most notably observed in British Columbia, Canada, have shown a truly bizarre twist in the natural world: a Canada goose laying and incubating her eggs right inside an active Bald Eagle nest, alongside the eagles and their own eaglets!

Bald eagles are powerful predators, and geese can certainly be prey. So, seeing a goose bravely setting up shop in an eagle's treetop home, often high above the ground, stunned wildlife watchers. Why would the eagles tolerate this? The exact reasons remain a bit of a mystery – perhaps the goose was too bold or large to be easily attacked, or maybe the eagles simply didn't perceive her as a threat while focused on their own young.

The goose would diligently sit on her eggs while the much larger eagles came and went, tending to their own chicks nearby. In some cases, goslings even hatched successfully in these high-rise nests!

However, this wasn't quite the harmonious "partnership" the original text suggests. It was more a case of eagle tolerance and goose opportunism (taking advantage of a seemingly protected nest site).
