Man Middleburg been wildin the last week

Middleburg, FL - On August 22, 2025, at approximately 7:00 A.M., deputies responded to the 5600 Block of Bee Hive Road after receiving a call that a neighbor was shooting towards the caller’s residence. When deputies arrived, they immediately took the suspect, Sherry Lynn Garrison (54 years old), into custody. Garrison resisted deputies’ efforts to take her into custody and fought with them during her arrest.

The investigation revealed that a dispute between neighbors over dogs turned physical when Garrison pushed one of the victims. Garrison then walked back toward her own yard. The victim warned Garrison not to return and used a firearm to fire warning shots into the ground on his own property.

Garrison then walked into her home and retrieved her own handgun. She walked back outside and fired several shots at the victim and another other adult in the yard. Garrison also shot into victim’s house where another adult and 6 children were present. No one was injured during the incident.

Garrison was interviewed and subsequently arrested for Attempted Murder (2 counts), Shooting Into an Occupied Dwelling (1 count), Resisting Law Enforcement with Violence (1 counts) and Simple Battery (1 count).

Middleburg, FL On August 21st, at approximately 7 P.M., deputies responded to the parking lot of the Walmart Neighborhood Market located at 2570 CR 220 after receiving multiple calls about a shooting in the grocery store parking lot. Investigators learned the victim and suspect (David Lee Garcia age 57) were involved in a road rage disturbance while driving on County Road 220. The victim pulled into the grocery store parking lot and Garcia followed behind the victim. Garcia then drove around the victim, stopped just yards from them, and after a brief argument fired multiple rounds from a handgun that struck the victim’s car. Two uninvolved cars that were parked nearby were also struck by gunfire from Garcia. One of the cars was occupied by an adult and child; however, they were not injured. Garcia and the initial victim left the parking lot and called to report the incident. The initial victim suffered a superficial injury that was treated by Clay Fire Rescue Department personnel. Garcia was interviewed and subsequently arrested for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Shooting a Firearm into an Occupied Conveyance.

Acts of violence, particularly those occurring on or near the roadways, will not be tolerated in Clay County. Driving is a privilege that comes with the responsibility of remaining calm, composed, and respectful of others to ensure everyone reaches their destination safely.
