On September 28, 2015, Carl “Mikey” Thompson walked out of his home in Moundsville, West Virginia around 3:00 PM and never came back.

Just hours later, in the dark of night, a driver passing along a remote stretch of Hawkey Hill Road made a chilling discovery that would shake the community.

Mike had been shot in the head. His body wrapped in a handmade quilt, concealed, and set on fire.

This wasn’t random.
This was personal.

Investigators believe the person (or people) responsible knew him. And yet, over a decade later… no one has been held accountable.
