Stupendemys is an extinct genus of freshwater side-necked turtle, belonging to the family Podocnemididae. It is the largest freshwater turtle known to have existed, with a carapace over 2 meters long. Its fossils have been found in northern South America, in rocks dating from the Middle Miocene to the very start of the Pliocene, about 13 to 5 million years ago. Male specimens are known to have possessed bony horns growing from the front edges of the shell and the discovery of the fossil of a young adult shows that the carapace of these turtles flattens with age. A fossil skull described in 2021 indicates that Stupendemys was a generalist feeder

One of the most well preserved also known as Lady Dai or Marquise of Dai, was the wife of the Marquis of Dai, during the Western Han dynasty of ancient . She gained fame more than 2,000 years after her death, when her was discovered. Xin Zhui's body was remarkably well preserved in an unknown fluid inside the coffin. Her skin was soft and moist, with muscles that still allowed for her arms and legs to flex at the joints. All her organs and blood vessels were also intact, with small amounts of Type A blood being found in her veins. Xin Zhui died around 50 years of age in 168 BC. Her cause of death was a heart attack, due to years of poor health. A total of 138 melon seeds were found in her stomach, intestines and . It is inferred that she died in summer. The presence of food in her stomach also indicates that she died within two to three hours after eating the melon. More than 1,000 items ranging from drink and food vessels, to silk clothing and tapestries, to figurines of musicians and mourners were found in her tomb.

A mysterious skull of a cyclops was found in a cave in Bohol, Philippines.
Studies revealed that the skull is about 10,000 years old and that it was an average human height.
It has a shape, jaw and human teeth, everything in it is normal except for a singularity: a gap in the middle of the face, in which a huge eye fit perfectly.
This finding also draws attention because in the mythology of that area. There is the legend that there were cyclops in antiquity, and when this skull was found it revived the belief that the story could just be more than a legend.

This Man Lived to Be 137 Years Old.
This man was known to be John Smith, a Chippewa Indian who lived for an incredibly long time. Allegedly he resided in the woods of Minnesota for over a century. He was reportedly a whopping one hundred and thirty-seven years old the year that he passed away. He must have had so many stories; the pain and wisdom can be seen in his eyes. Whatever his lifestyle was to enable him to live that long needs to be shared.

Chief John Smith (likely born as early as 1780; died February 6, 1922) was an Ojibwe (Chippewa) Indian who lived in the area of Cass Lake, Minnesota.

What Ever Happened To Young Forrest Gump?

Michael Humphreys, the child star who played young Forrest in the blockbuster film “Forrest Gump,” is all grown up.

Now 38, the Memphis-born actor has been providing fans with updates on his Instagram, where he’s shown off his various hair styles and changing looks — as well as as “interesting requests” for his autograph.

Nearly three decades since delighting audiences with his leg brace-shattering sprint, Humphreys now lives a quiet life in Portland, Oregon.

And just like the eponymous film character, who memorably joined the army and served in Vietnam, Humphreys also enlisted in the US Army.

When Humphreys was 8 years old, he was taken to an open casting call in Memphis where producers were searching for a young Tom Hanks with a “quirky disposition.”

The casting team was reportedly enamored by Humphreys’ thick Southern accent and he was cast in the movie adaption of Winston Groom’s 1996 novel.

Hanks later said in interviews that he copied Humphreys’ drawl for his own character.

With exception to a school production and an uncredited role in the 2003 television adaption of John Grisham’s “A Painted House,” Humphreys did not pursue a career in acting.

After high school, Humphreys was stationed in the 1st Battalion 36th Infantry Regiment and completed an 18-month deployment in Iraq. He completed his 4-year service in 2008.
