Back-to-school routines can make a big difference in helping kids stay healthy throughout the year. 🎒

Five habits to keep in mind:
1) Keep a consistent sleep schedule
2) Encourage regular handwashing
3) Pack balanced meals and snacks when possible
4) Keep kids home when they’re sick
5) Stay up to date on recommended immunizations and health visits

Small routines can help support healthier school days for the whole family.

Before heading outside during Minnesota’s heat and humidity, check the heat index — not just the temperature. The heat index combines heat and humidity to show how hot it actually feels. 🥵

To reduce your risk:

→ Drink water throughout the day.
→ Limit strenuous activity and take breaks in a cool place.
→ Plan outdoor activities for cooler parts of the day.
→ Check in with anyone who may need extra support.
