Hurricane Preparedness Expo next Thursday
ST. PETERSBURG, FL (July 22, 2025) - The City of St. Petersburg's Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a Mid-Season Hurricane Preparedness Expo for Seniors on Thursday, July 31, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Sunshine Senior Center (330 5th St N.).
This free event is designed specifically to address the unique needs of seniors, offering a comprehensive range of services and information to help participants prepare for potential storms.
The event includes:
- Presentations from guest speakers and local emergency management experts
- Vendor booths providing preparedness products and resources
- Assistance with special needs shelter registration
- Guidance on medication planning and home safety measures
- Complimentary hurricane preparedness kits for the first 100 registered households
- Free ice cream to enjoy while networking and learning
