Failure to Communicate is the debut album from Central Florida artist True Self.

Born Aidan Draxten-Brosious in Clearwater, Florida, Failure to Communicate is both a tribute to the state’s underground electronic music culture and a reflection of the person behind the project.

While much of True Self’s previous work has centered around fast-paced club rhythms, hip-hop influences, and tightly programmed basslines and synths, this record takes a different direction. Rather than chasing peak-time energy, it focuses on what a full-length electronic album can be—allowing space for atmosphere, emotion, and experimentation.

Throughout the record are subtle nods to Florida’s rich electronic music history, reinterpreted through a modern lens while continuing to push into new territory.

Featuring nine original tracks and two remixes, the album runs just under an hour

“Hypnozis” serves as one of the album’s centerpieces, accompanied by two remixes. Neighborhood Rhythms co-founder Suspence delivers a late-night acid reinterpretation built around driving 303 basslines, while St. Petersburg, Russia-born producer Arina Krondeva reshapes the track with hypnotic percussion, melodic synth work, and an unexpected half-time shift.

Three years in the making, Failure to Communicate was never intended to be perfect. It exists as an honest document of a particular moment in time—one that embraces vulnerability, raw emotion, and the idea that not everything needs to be fully understood to be felt.

Neighborhood Rhythms presents:
Neurovision – “Driving to Burgertown” (nxtel Remix)

Orlando’s nxtel delivers a shadowy, bass-heavy remix that pulls you straight into the underground. Haunting atmospheres, deep body-shaking low end, and relentless syncopated grooves designed to keep the floor moving.

Fresh off releases with Ovelha Trax and collaborations with Arina Krondeva & Suspence, nxtel continues to push his sound forward — and this one hits hard.

Neighborhood Rhythms returns with our second drop of the year —
🧛🏼‍♂️”Dracula” by Sphorix & True Self 🧛🏼‍♂️

A dark, high-energy collaboration driven by heavy electro drums, a relentless distorted 808, and raw sampled vocals inspired by Rob Zombie 🩸
Equally at home during late-night drives or at peak dancefloor moments — this track is built to move bodies.

This release marks our first time welcoming Sphorix to the Neighborhood Rhythms family, and we couldn’t be more excited.
Based in Tarpon Springs, Florida (by way of upstate New York), Sphorix channels his roots in bass music into a sound that hits with both grit and precision.

Paired with True Self, his longtime best friend and creative collaborator, “Dracula” captures the chemistry that only comes from years of shared influence and mutual vision.

Available NOW for streaming and free download on Bandcamp & SoundCloud
