Strong. Silly. Sweet. Serious. Sassy (sort of). Smart. Sensitive. Sister. Student. Sophomore…..
Just a handful of “s” words to describe my girl… not because it’s daughter’s Day or her birthday or anything like that but just because I stumbled upon this selfie in my camera roll and thought to myself, man I sure do like this girl!
She is light years beyond where I was when I was her age and isn’t that what we all want as parents? Don’t we all want our children to stand on our shoulders, go further and be better than we were? The teenage years are great because as parents, we can actually start to see evidence of that happening.
As Amelia Jane starts this new school year, studying, working hard and running on the Cross country team, I’m excited and honored just to bear witness to her life. Motherhood is such a blessing! And I feel very grateful.
