Logged yet another travel day. Time for a new front porch! Des Moine, IA to Salem, SD just west of Sioux Falls. Travel day went without a hitch, but when we were setting up, one of our slides started to malfunction. BAL Exact-Slide. Had the other one replaced about 6 weeks ago in Dallas, TX. It was doing the Exact same thing. No pun intended. Contacted the Camping World just outside of Rapid City in Summerset, to advise them what’s going on, (to start the warranty claim with Forest River), and I’ll be on the phone first thing in the morning talking to the same tech from BAL (Norco Industry) to send a newly designed slide kit. They know a problem exists. Frustrating for sure, but it is what it is. It all worked out for the other slide, so we will see how this goes. Wish us luck!

Left central Illinois this morning, and our overnight stay tonight at KOA just off I-80. Nice little campground and a ton of amenities here. Staff very pleasant. This will be a must stop again when we come through on our travels. Left the truck and trailer hitched up since we are headed to Soiux Falls tomorrow morning. Trailer is listing to the rear so hopefully I don’t crush Sarina over night! 😳😆 Wish me luck!!

Updated our water system today. Staying at an rv park in Illinois in the middle of nowhere. Went through the Glacier Fresh first stage filter in a week, due to heavy sediment. Should have lasted 3 months! The replacement filters for the Glacier Fresh system come packaged in 3’s, so needed to figure out a better solution, and they aren’t cheap. Went to the local hardware store and picked up a Culligan whole house filter housing for $30 and filters are $5 a piece. So I made it my initial stage prior to the multi-filter and water softener. Wish me luck!!
