What an incredible night!

After two nights of standing around in the dark waiting for solar particles that weren't as strong as predicted, I was so fortunate to have captured this substorm last night that brought the Northern Lights to Oregon and the middle latitudes. My dad and I got to hang out in the foothills of the Cascades and we could see some of this even without a camera. However, look at what the camera did pick up: brilliant colors, incredible clouds, and even the Milky Way at the top! (Turn your screen brightness up to see every detail.)

Last Tuesday, Center 50+ Director Marilyn Daily gathered the board of Friends of Center 50+ for an urgent update on their funding situation. She had some great ideas for supporting their efforts, but her board members had some hilarious "visions" of their own... Make sure to stay until the end for a surprise bonus! I celebrated two years full-time with Dry Humor Marketing last month so I’m taking a look back at my first photography job. I met a fellow customer at Focal Point Photography who asked me if I could take photos of his forest garden. It was a delightful first paid job and I’m grateful for all of my clients since that first day!
