Canned Baked Beans - UPDATE
The SECOND round of processing had a little more success but still not 100% seal on the jars. Three out of the 5 sealed.
We put two jars in the fridge and gave them a taste test night before last. DO NOT use cane syrup! Remember when I made the first video, I accidentally grabbed the cane syrup instead of molasses? The cane syrup - if you have ever tasted it - had a very unique flavor. When we opened the jar and poured it in a pan to reheat, I honestly thought they were black beans. The taste had an almost burnt flavor to it. I attribute all of that to the cane syrup. The texture of the beans - even after processing them twice - was perfect. The flavor - because of the cane syrup - not a fan. Follow the recipe and make sure you don’t grab cane syrup by mistake.
