#1- Labor Day event organized by the Saline County Democrats from 1:00-3:00, on the front lawn of the Temple in Downtown Salina. Grilled hot dogs and refreshing lemonade. Bring a lawn chair, and a side dish or dessert. Mattson & Weaver and Ann Zimmerman will perform music.

Goodby Bob Homolka. Imagine a long time math teacher at KTI and K-State loved by his students. Bob served as Assistant Dean, umpired baseball, was selected to the Kansas baseball Hall of Fame, loved fishing, and almost won a seat in the Kansas legislature's 69th district. Bob was one of the faculty members responsible for bringing K-State to Salina. As a leader, Bob could call balls and strikes. -- Posted by Greg Stephens.
