Missionary work is one of the noblest efforts in the Gospel. Missionaries leave behind family, comfort, and routine because they love the Savior and want to share His truth. But not only they move the work forward—every member can be a missionary by living the Gospel with conviction and loving others sincerely.

In Alma 37:37, Alma counsels his son Helaman to make the Lord his constant guide. He invites him to counsel with the Lord in all his doings, to seek His will in every decision, and to trust Him completely. Alma also teaches that by praying sincerely morning, night, and throughout the day, the Lord will guide his path and strengthen him in every challenge. This verse emphasizes the importance of a continual relationship with God, built on prayer, trust, and daily obedience.

It is a beautiful promise: when we acknowledge the Lord in all our decisions, He directs our paths with divine wisdom. ✨ Teaching

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I know that Joseph Smith was the prophet chosen by the Lord to restore His Church in the latter days. Born in 1805 to a humble family, he sincerely sought truth. At only 14 years old, he prayed with real intent and received the First Vision, in which he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. That moment began the Restoration of the Gospel.

Through the gift and power of God, Joseph translated the Book of Mormon and organized the Church again just as Christ established it anciently. His ministry was filled with revelation, service, and sacrifice until his martyrdom in 1844. I see him as a courageous and humble instrument in the Lord’s hands.

✨ Debunked Myths

Myth 1: “Joseph Smith made up the Book of Mormon.”
I testify that the Book of Mormon was not a product of his imagination. He translated it by the power of God, and multiple witnesses saw and handled the gold plates, never denying their testimonies.

Myth 2: “Joseph wanted fame, wealth, or power.”
Studying his life makes it clear that Joseph endured persecution, poverty, unjust imprisonment, and constant threats. A man seeking power would not have suffered such things. His only desire was to follow God.

Myth 3: “The First Vision was invented years later.”
Historical records show that Joseph spoke of his vision from the beginning, even though doing so brought ridicule and opposition. He never denied what he had seen.

To me, Joseph Smith was not perfect, but he was a true prophet. Through him, the Lord restored eternal truths, sacred ordinances, and the fullness of the Gospel to bless all God’s children.

Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is always liberating. When we forgive, we let go of burdens God does not want us to carry. The Savior teaches us to forgive as He does—with patience and compassion.

In Alma 32:21, Alma teaches one of the clearest and most profound definitions of faith in the entire Book of Mormon. He explains that faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things, but to hope for things which are true, even when we cannot yet see them. This teaching helps the humble Zoramites—and us—understand that faith begins as a sincere desire in the heart, a first step of trust in God that grows through spiritual experience. Alma emphasizes that faith is the foundation of all spiritual growth and that the Lord asks us to trust Him even before we have all the answers. This verse reminds us that we don’t need to know everything in order to believe. The Lord honors even our smallest seed of faith when we offer it sincerely. As we act with hope and trust, that faith grows into spiritual knowledge and a deeper relationship with God. Faith is the starting point of miracles.

Alma clarifies that this is not the final resurrection but a temporary state in which the righteous dwell in the presence of the Lord, surrounded by His love and goodness. This verse reveals the glorious hope the Gospel offers regarding life after death. This verse teaches us that death is not the end but a transition into greater peace for those who have lived faithfully. The Lord promises rest and happiness to His obedient children. Knowing that our righteous loved ones are in a state of light and joy can bring us comfort in times of loss and strengthens our resolve to live in a way that prepares us for that same eternal rest.
