Chicken pot pie bake - Don't Lose This Recipe

2 tablespoons butter
1 small package frozen veggie mix: carrots, peas, corn and green beans
2 chicken breasts cooked and shredded
1-2 cups chicken broth adapt to your preference
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup regular size

Pour the filling into a buttered 13x9-inch baking dish. Top the filling with the 8 biscuits (partially baked), flip them over top to bottom to unsure even baking on the other side. Bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the biscuits are golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Italian Stromboli
11/27/2025

Italian Stromboli

Italian Stromboli
1 tube of pillsbury pizza crust
8 slices of deli ham
10 slices of Genoa salami
12 slices of sandwich pepperoni
8 slices provolone cheese or mozzarella
(You could definitely use shredded cheese as well)
2 tablespoons of butter
2 minced garlic gloves
2 teaspoons chopped parsley
3 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese
Melt the butter in the microwave and mix in the minced garlic, parsley and Parmesan cheese. Set aside
I lined my baking sheet with parchment paper.
Stretch the pizza crust out to almost the size of your baking sheet.
Layer the deli meats. I started with the ham, then the salami followed by the pepperoni.
Layer the cheese last.
Roll the Stromboli longwise and be sure to seal the seam good.
Seal the ends good. Pinch them and mold the excess dough to the underside of the Stromboli.
Score the top a few times with a serrated knife (to allow the steam to escape while baking).
Top the Stromboli with the garlic butter mixture.
Bake the Stromboli as instructed on the back of whatever pizza dough you are using.
*I found it’s the same bake time as you would if you were using it for a regular pizza…however, you just won’t par bake it as instructed on the tube.
*I know typical Stromboli has red sauce but I don’t like it inside, I like to dip mine in it! You could very well use it on the inside if you would like!

My husband and I have found this to be very cost effective and provides easy, flavorful meal ideas when you don't want to think about what to cook.
We will pick up 2 packages of chicken breasts from Sam's Club, trim the fat, and cut each one in half.
I will put marinade in a freezer bag and he will put 4 pieces in each bag. I write the flavor and the date. The key is to keep the packages in the fridge for 1 day before freezing. I usually get 1 dinner and leftovers for lunch or another dinner meal depending on what I make to go with the chicken.
Then I just have to thaw and bake at 350 for about 20-30 mins., make some veggies and I'm done. We do portion out plain and I will use those for casseroles or shredding, etc. Sometimes we will already chunk the chicken to make it even easier for making stir fry, casseroles, etc.
There are 7 bags here but I had a plain in the fridge for tomorrow's dinner. So 8 bags were less than $5/bag.

A side or sides to go with pulled pork sandwiches that isn't fries or mac and cheese?

Ok hear me out…since the rising cost of groceries and meat, I just discovered a cheaper alternative. If you are on a tight budget and hamburger helper is on the menu, then this is for you. So, a box or 2 depending on family size of the regular cheeseburger hamburger helper (NOT) the deluxe kind. Yes, there is a difference in taste and sauce texture. I use the family size or double size box of cheeseburger helper. Husband takes leftovers for lunch. Anyway, grab a can of Hormel chili no beans and throw that in, instead of using hamburger meat aka ground beef. I prefer the hot Hormel chili because it gives it spice! But, it is a cheaper alternative to ground beef, in a pinch! It gives it more flavor and it takes less time. Besides the obvious, it’s cheaper!
Cheeseburger Hamburger Helper
1 can of Hormel chili (no beans) or hot chili with beans
Make according to box directions
Add can of hot Hormel chili
