This story. 1993: That one time Tupac went as Rosie Perez's date to the Soul Train awards after her date stood her up. ⁣They were friends but Tupac went with her to make the guy mad.⁣

Rosie explained, “The guy was supposed to go with me, and then he called me up the day, an hour before I was supposed to get in the car, and said, ‘I can't go because then my girlfriend is going to see me on camera with you.’ I said, ‘You son of a bitch!’"⁣

In that moment: “Tupac called me up and said, ‘Why you crying?’ I said, ‘Cause this man dissed me.’ He was like, ‘Forget that, I’m on my way.’ So we went and we were friends. When we get to the Soul Train Music Awards, every female artist there was on my sh*t” Perez said.⁣⁣

“Everyone asks me, yes, we were stoned off our asses when we came out of the limo and he held my hand to make a guy jealous,” Perez said. “We weren’t dating and everyone thought we were.”⁣

The women at the Soul Train Awards: “And they kept going, ‘Hi, Rosie, Hi, Hi. Never spoke to me before. And there was two girls, they will remain nameless, who wanted to beat me up. And I was telling Tupac, ‘Would you tell them I ain’t sleeping with you? We just friends.’ And he goes, ‘You can take ’em.'” ⁣

Knowing your worth isn’t about arrogance, it’s about awareness. When you understand the value you bring, you stop chasing people, places, or situations that make you feel small. You stop begging for bare minimum energy and start attracting people who see you, respect you, and pour into you the same way you pour into them. Don’t shrink yourself just to be accepted because your worth was set long before anyone’s opinion.
