Skylar didn’t start with a business plan or investors. He started by comparing two kinds of work:

Mowing lawns in 115-degree heat…
or flipping a phone on eBay in the air conditioning.

One option paid thirty dollars.
The other paid about fifteen.
But one could be repeated all day long with no sweat, no gas, no equipment, and no angry customers.

That simple comparison changed his entire future.

He began running a schedule only a driven teenager could handle — golf course at dawn, school during the day, lawns at sunset, and flipping phones at night. That side hustle turned into skill. Skill turned into opportunity. And years later, he built a wireless operation with 42 stores, 180 employees, and more than $22 million in annual sales.

This clip is a reminder that life doesn’t change because of luck. It changes because you choose the smarter path over the harder one.

At fifteen years old, Skylar made a decision most adults never have the courage to make.

He left home, left a letter on the counter, and walked miles into the night with a promise to himself that he would never rely on anyone again. No safety net. No backup plan. No one coming to save him.

Most people see the success he built later in life, but this moment is where it truly began. Not in the restaurants, not in the wireless stores, not in the clubs — but in a teenager’s determination to prove everyone wrong and build a future on his own terms.

This clip is about identity, responsibility, and the kind of drive that comes from pain, not comfort. If you’ve ever had to pick yourself up with no help and no excuses, this will resonate deeply.

Skylar had everything most people chase: the house in Dominion, the Lamborghini, the club, the travel, the spending, the image.

But none of it matched the man he actually wanted to become.

After a streak of bad investments and a restaurant losing twenty thousand dollars a month, he had a moment of brutal honesty. His life looked successful on the outside, but the trend line was heading straight down. So he did something most people never do:

He shut it all down.

In one day he cut off every group chat, stepped away from the noise, closed the failing business, and made a decision to rebuild his life from the inside out. That pivot took more courage than buying anything ever did.

This clip from our conversation is a reminder that it’s never too late to course-correct. You are allowed to reset. You are allowed to realign. You are allowed to build a life that actually matches your values.

A lot of people feel stuck because they’re measuring themselves against perfection instead of progress.

Life isn’t linear. It’s a rollercoaster — ups, downs, curves, surprises.
But when you anchor yourself to daily progress instead of some ideal version of yourself, everything gets lighter and more doable.

One of the most practical habits shared in this conversation was simple:

👉 Write down your goals for the next day BEFORE you end today.

It gives you clarity.
It gives you direction.
And you wake up feeling like you’re already in motion.

And here’s the part that really matters:
Don’t try to conquer everything.
Pick your 3–5 most important priorities and commit to them.
Small wins compound. Clarity compounds. Progress compounds.

Perfection doesn’t.

What’s one thing you’re committing to tomorrow that will move your life forward?

Let’s hear it. 👇

Starting a business changes more than your schedule — it changes your family rhythm.

For us, that meant learning how to say “no.”
Not because we didn’t love our kids, but because we were building something bigger for them.

We had to be transparent — explaining why some things had to wait, why we were budgeting our time and money differently, and why this season was about discipline and trust.

It wasn’t easy.
But the conversations built buy-in. The kids understood the “why.”
They saw sacrifice, not struggle — and they learned what it means to chase purpose as a family.

Because parenting isn’t about giving them everything they want.
It’s about showing them what it looks like to build something that lasts.

💬 How do you teach your kids about priorities, patience, and purpose?

What if you ran your home like a boardroom?

One of the brothers from our men’s group said he just held a “Board of Directors Meeting” — with his wife and kids.
They talked about goals, direction, and family values. Everyone had a voice. Everyone knew the plan. 🙌

That hit home for me. Because when your family’s aligned, you stop drifting.

We hold business meetings, strategy sessions, and masterminds for our careers — but how often do we schedule them for our homes?

Your family is your first mastermind alliance.
If you can lead there, you can lead anywhere.

💬 How do you and your family stay on the same page about your goals and values?

Ever catch yourself chasing every new opportunity that comes your way?
That’s what they call shiny object syndrome.

It’s easy to fall into — especially when you’re ambitious.
Every idea feels exciting. Every door looks like the right one to open.

But as Carlos Garcia reminds us in this clip from the Always Level Up Podcast,
focus isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing what matters most.

Because distractions don’t always look like problems…
Sometimes, they look like possibilities.

You can do a lot of things.
But you can’t master them all.

The truth?
Success happens when you learn to say no to what’s “good”
so you can say yes to what’s great.

Happiness isn’t something you stumble into.
It’s something you choose — no matter the season you’re in.

In this short Always Level Up Podcast clip, Carlos Garcia shares a reminder we all need sometimes:
You can’t control everything in life.
But you can control how you show up for it.

Happiness isn’t about everything being perfect.
It’s about living with purpose — showing up each day with intention, gratitude, and faith.

You can drift through life…
Or you can live it on purpose.

The choice is yours.

Everyone wants to be happy — but few people realize that happiness takes both surrender and strategy.

You can’t control everything in life.
But if you don’t take the reins… someone else will.

That’s the insight Carlos Garcia shares in this Always Level Up Podcast clip with Tracy Garcia.

True happiness isn’t about trying to control every outcome.
It’s about releasing what you can’t control while staying intentional about what you can — your time, your direction, your faith, and your effort.

Happiness doesn’t come from drifting.
It comes from direction.

So the real question is — who’s steering your life right now?

Most people only think about budgeting when it comes to money.
But the truth is, your time needs a budget too.

In this clip from Always Level Up: The Carlos & Tracy Edition, Carlos Garcia unpacks one of Napoleon Hill’s most powerful (and most ignored) principles of success — budgeting your time and money with purpose.

You can always make more money.
You can’t make more time.

That’s why the most successful people treat their hours like capital.
They plan them.
They protect them.
They invest them into what actually matters — their family, faith, purpose, and personal growth.

Hill called it a “definite major purpose.”
Andrew Carnegie called it a “principle of success.”
We call it living on purpose instead of drifting through the day.

“I thought I had my health in check — until I ended up in the emergency room.”

A few weeks ago, Carlos Garcia experienced what doctors called a minor stroke.

Thankfully, it didn’t impair his body — but it shook his perspective. His vision blurred, his balance was off, and suddenly, he had to rely on others just to move around.

And in that moment, he realized something:
Even though he worked out regularly, woke up early, and kept his routines tight… something was missing.

His blood pressure was high.
His stress was higher.
And his habits — the ones he thought were healthy — weren’t actually helping him.

💡 The lesson?
You can do everything “right” and still neglect the most important part: what you consume, what you stress over, and what you ignore.

Your body always keeps score.
And sometimes, it has to stop you so you’ll finally pay attention.

This is one of the most real, honest moments we’ve shared on Always Level Up.
A reminder to every entrepreneur, leader, and parent: success means nothing if you’re not healthy enough to enjoy it.

“Skipping sleep to get ahead actually slows the progress.”

That line from Tracy Ross Garcia hit hard — because we’ve all done it.

We tell ourselves we’ll rest later.
We ignore the stress, the fatigue, the warning signs.
We “power through” because we think that’s what success requires.

But in reality, it’s slowing us down.

💡 Real growth doesn’t come from exhaustion — it comes from alignment.
From making proactive choices that protect your health, your energy, and your focus.

You can’t pour into your business, your team, or your family if you’re running on empty.
Rest isn’t the opposite of hustle — it’s part of it.

👉 Slow down. Refocus. Take care of yourself first.
Because success that costs your health isn’t success at all.
