A strong earthquake struck parts of Mindanao at 7:37 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, with initial earthquake monitoring apps estimating the tremor at magnitude 8.0.
The quake’s epicenter was initially located near the Municipality of Glan in Sarangani Province at a depth of 75.9 kilometers. Strong shaking was felt in several areas across Mindanao, including Davao City, prompting evacuations and suspension of classes and government work in some areas.
