I never really dreamed of having an unmedicated birthโฆ.I just did not understand why it was a choice someone would make. Who would want to voluntarily be in pain?!? Lol๐๐
When I got pregnant and started to think about labor, delivery, and all the things I couldnโt help but feel my spirit stirring. Every time I thought about giving birth unmedicated, there were so many emotions there. Fear that I could not do it. Fear of what my family would think. Curiosity about what it would be like to give birth like Mary or one of my Bible heroes.
After lots of prayer and searching my heart for why I wanted to do an unmedicated birth I decided to go for it.
I prayed every single morning that Jesus would be glorified and that I would get to testify of His goodness. I labored for 18 hours and had a very quick delivery! It was so hard and so beautiful. I met the God of suffering more than ever before.
After it was all over, the doctor and nurses stood around me as I held my baby boy, and the doctor asked how I had done it. Robby and I looked at each other and got to testify of Godโs goodness and share how He was the only one who got me through labor and blessed it. I remember everyone smiling and just kind of nodding their heads ๐ but I had never felt the goodness of God more than in that moment!
However you end up delivering, meeting your baby and bringing life into the world with God is truly the biggest and sweetest way we get to testify of His faithfulness!!!!
(Lionโs one year bday coming up has me thinking so much about this moment ๐ฅน)
