Lilly went on a camp field trip yesterday to Morgan’s Wonderland, and there was another group there of older kids from the YMCA. Those older kids started cussing up a storm and decided it would be funny to mess with Lilly’s group (of much younger children) by spraying toward them with the water shooters.

Lilly was hit in the head and eye.

Parents… we have to do better.

Messing with small children you don’t know is not okay. Period. Kids need to be taught that other people are not props for their entertainment, and kindness and respect don’t stop mattering when you’re with your friends.

Even if they weren’t specifically targeting Lilly’s group, they were causing distress for everyone else trying to enjoy their time there.

I understand kids are growing up chronically online these days, but there is a real world out there full of other humans. We have to teach our kids that the people sharing that world with them deserve basic respect.

Raise respectful humans. Raise kind humans.
