Family Unit-Versity, a 10-week course, geared toward creating and preserving positive family-child interaction. Family Unit-versity’s target audience are young parents or caregivers of children ages 0-3, the most crucial developmental period in a child’s life. The goal is to create strong loving bonds and to unite the family in the care of the child. We really want to reach non-traditional families that may be co-parenting, multigenerational homes and single parent homes.
Between the ages of 0-3, children go through the most important developmental period of their lives. This age range is where we gain most of our foundational knowledge for relationship building, gross and fine motor skills, speech and language development and self-regulation. Our classes are offered free of charge to single parents, co-parents, pregnant people and non-traditional caregivers and their families, traditional families and multigenerational homes.
Our program offers incentives for participation including childcare provided during classes childcare items, baby gear/supplies and gas and gift cards. Enrollment also comes with case management services, baby proofing assessments and aids and hands on interactive bootcamps.
Our Educators use research backed curriculums that engage parents with its interactive model. Learners are not just being lectured at, but they are part of their educational growth in a fun and inclusive environment where we play games, have raffles and share a meal.

Child Safety
Attachment Styles

My name is Valerie Martinez I am a Family Support Specialist at BCFS with the FAYS program.
The Family and Youth Sucess Program is a community FREE driven program dedicated to nurturing the potential of the family and youth. We discuss the conflict with everyday struggles while promoting strong families and youth resilience. FAYS providers offer case management services with a trained professional and group-based learning for youth and parents. Empowering families and youth to thrive in today's dynamic world. Our program is designed to provide comprehensive support, resources and opportunities that foster personal growth , strong family bonds and community engagement.

At BCFS through FAYS we have a great program to assist families with children 6-17 with a multitude of resources. Our Strengthening Families Program (SFP) enhances family structures and relationships.

Our Family Support Specialist review skills such as bonding activities, routines, how to speak to children about friendships, safety, and other useful skills to help them develop healthfully. Helps youth and family members communicate respectfully, and decreases the dangers of depression, aggression, or other harmful behaviors in families. 10-week curriculum, 1 hour per session; can be virtual or in person
