After sending Daniel to school, I stopped by H-E-B to pick up a few groceries. As I walked past the garden section, I saw these beautiful flowers and had to stop and capture them.

And just like that, memories started flashing back…

I lived in Guangzhou, China, for over 17 years. These flowers were everywhere—on almost every street and around every corner. Back then, I saw them so often that I never really stopped to appreciate their beauty.

But now, here in Texas, whenever I see them, I can’t help but stop and admire them. ❤️

Funny how distance changes the way we see things. Sometimes, you don’t realize how much a place means to you until you are far away from it.

I guess this is what they call missing home… missing a piece of your homeland. 🥹❤️

My Little Kungfu Master ❤️🥹

Our little Kungfu master who has been staying at home, disturbing everybody and keeping the whole house lively is finally going to school. 🥹❤️

Today is his very first day of school, and I never imagined I would feel this emotional. Honestly, I think I’m more nervous than he is. Watching him walk away with his little bag, starting a new chapter of his life, filled my heart with so many emotions.

The house may finally be quiet, and nobody will be disturbing me all day again 😂, but deep down, I already know I will miss all the noise, the laughter, the little troubles, and even the moments when he drives me crazy.

Son, as you take your first steps into this new journey, always remember that you are deeply loved. May God guide you, protect you, give you wisdom, and surround you with good people. May you grow into a kind, strong, confident and successful man.

Go and make us proud, my little Kungfu master. 🥋🎒❤️

Today you may be going to school, but to me, you will always be my little boy. 🥹❤️
