Reposted from VIDA San Antonio:
University Health’s award-winning SaludArte: Art of Healing program is putting the finishing touches on the new Vida Clinic, set to open in just a few weeks. 🏥

🎨 San Antonio artist and Southside native Louis Vega Treviño designed the stunning two-story exterior tile mural, while artist Monika Bravo brought her creative touch to the interior enhancements now being installed.

A huge thank you to all the student-athletes and parents who helped make this a success!

Thank you, Futuro Education SA, for the opportunity to attend the Voices for Education Forum, where leaders from across San Antonio’s education and political landscape came together for important conversations about the future of our students.

We heard powerful testimonies from youth and parent advocates, reviewed critical data from the summer deep-canvassing effort, and gained valuable insights from a dynamic panel discussion. The message was clear: it’s on all of us, through our unique roles and collective responsibility, to tackle literacy challenges, student mental health, a lack of teacher support, and chronic absenteeism.

Special thanks to moderator Jaden Edison (The Texas Tribune) and panelists SAISD Board President Alicia Sebastian, Jubilee Academies Superintendent Dr. Atikah Shemshack, Futuro Parent Advocate Janet Garcia, and D1 Councilwoman Dr. Sukh Kaur for their leadership and perspectives.
