The July 1 U.S. cattle inventory for 2025 totaled 94.2 million head, marking the lowest mid-year inventory on record. This figure is down 1.2 million head from 95.4 million in 2023 and down a sharp 8 million head from 2020, when the inventory stood at 102.2 million. (Data only goes back until 1973...)
