Boy oh boy, do we have so much to share from our shoot over at the Josephine Apartments ().

The goal here wasn’t to brighten this room, it was to honor it.
Every detail in this library, from the brass accents to the green velvet, tells a quieter story when the light is dialed back just enough.

If this nightstand could talk, it would say: ‘I’m just here to hold your book and steal the show.’

We knew we had to do something with our external lighting here to really bring out the crystal of the wall sconce. Giving it that early morning vibe felt so right once we saw the way the light glinted through the glass and refracted it so beautifully 😍

One of my favorite things about the art of photography, but probably toughest to learn, is that it has a way of teaching patience.
In this kitchen, the challenge wasn’t what to include, but what to hold back. Our decisions on the framing, the tone, the quiet precision of the light, was all about control in service of calm. We wanted to create a sense of stillness that doesn’t feel staged, a kind of intimacy within all the refinement.

Balancing the natural and the polished meant learning when to let go: allowing reflections to whisper instead of shout, shadows to settle where they belong. In the end, it became less about showcasing a room and more about creating a moment — a photograph that makes you feel like you’re standing inside it.

What we love about this set is how it shows both the quiet beauty and the bigger picture. Wide shot to capture the flow of the space, detail to catch the textures and warmth. It’s the kind of balance that helps a designer’s portfolio feel complete, without feeling overdone.

When we’re shooting a space like this, we’re thinking about two things:
1. How does the space function?
2. How does the space feel?
These frames do both — the clean lines and light tell you the story of the design, while the details give it soul. That’s what makes a portfolio magnetic!
