Transcript for our latest episode Season 3 Episode 3: Navigating Grief in Your 20’s 🤞🏼In this week’s minisode, we confront the whirlwind of existential thoughts and questions that come with being in your 20 somethings. As 20-somethings, we are trying on so many different hats, exploring new paths, and choosing & changing our minds a million times. How scary of a thought is it to realize you have to power to make decisions that will impact your life? And how do we deal with the impact of situations that were out of our control? Trying to figure out your identity and place in this world is hard enough, then adding grief & loss on top of that is a while other thing. Talk about feeling lost! Join us as we talk about how losing a parent at this young age, amid self discovery, changes EVERYTHING.

We discuss the void that created is so massive it impacts who we are & who we will become. It’s okay to question why we’re here, why these things happen, and what we would be like if they hadn’t. It’s okay not to have all the answers and have everything figured out. It’s okay to take risks, try new things, and learn from failures along the way. Embracing the uncertainty and understanding that plans may not always unfold as expected are all part of the journey.

If you haven’t heard it already, be sure to check it out using the link in our bio! 🎙️

🎉🎉ONE YEAR OF GRIEF UNCENSORED PODCAST 🎉🎉

TODAY marks one year since the first episode of Grief Uncensored premiered! 🎙️ One year since we sat in our living room in San Diego, isolated by grief but together in each others, looked at each other & said, “f**k it, lets just do it.” We had so many big dreams that day, and watching them all come to life has truly been the most humbling and beautiful experience of both of our lives.

It’s been quite the journey sharing our stories with you all & we can’t believe how fast this year has gone by.

Despite the heartache we endured filming each episode, putting ourselves out there for the world to see & sharing vulnerably our grief experience has been endlessly rewarding because of all of you! 🫶🏼

We’re so grateful for the beautiful connections we were able to create and the community we have built on the foundation of the love of our lost loved ones.

Thank you all so much for your support so far.
We hear from you all everyday that listening to our podcast makes you feel less alone, but equally, when we connect with you all, it helps us feel just as seen and supported.

This podcast has been such a crucial part of our healing, and we are sending so much love to those who feel the same way. ❤️

Happy(ish) Holidays from Grief Uncensored Podcast 🧡🎙️

This time of year can be a real b*tch, right? Trust me, we’re right there with you.

I see the Christmas trees and lights, Christmas music and all that, but for me nothing is the same.

Don’t forget that Christmas/ this season will come and go 🌊 Emotion is going to ebb and flow & any feelings of doom won’t last forever 🫶🏼

Sending love to all of you ❤️

All the expectations this month to be extra jolly and joyful while you’re supposed to be surrounded by friends and family can feel like a rude awakening when you’re not meeting those holiday standards. (Special shout out to our friend seasonal depression - we know you all too well) 🖕🏼🙃

It’s also triggering af to see other people with their complete families, while we have to face the reality that it will never be that way again. ❤️‍🩹

We may painfully reminisce on past holidays, feel good about where we are, or bittersweetly enjoy this one and then try to fight the feeling of guilt for feeling joy when your person is no longer here. Or you might just have always hated holidays and that’s fine too. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏽‍♂️

you are your grief journey, we see you, & you aren’t alone ❤️

“Gyasi pronounced Jah See; was a handsome, loving, smart, humble and brave son. His life was taken at the young age of 18; before he had the chance to live out his dreams fully. Many lives have been altered with this great loss. Son you are loved and missed every second of everyday. GOD bless your soul forever as you rest. Love mum.”

Happy Thursday! 💌

We have another new episode for you available on all platforms, including YouTube for the video version! 🎥

This week we met with Zane Landin, journalist and mental health advocate, to talk about his experience losing his mom suddenly in January 2021. Together we talk about doing “grief math”, and speculate on the afterlife and what “heaven” means for us grievers who have our favorite people on the other side. We discuss dreams, mediumship, and signs we get from our loved ones from the other side. Zane also opens up about different coping mechanisms he uses including using his imagination & daydreaming to conceptualize new memories with his mom.

Be sure to tune in! 💭
