You've finished a great segment on the air. Maybe it's a benchmark feature or an interview or a compelling, dramatic story. Congratulations. Now it's over. Or is it? No, it's not! Make it available on-demand (PPM markets: Encode the audio) and promote it. But how can you identify the right clips to promote to hear the entire segment? Here are some tips from my new book Mic Drop Moments: The Playbook for Unforgettable Guest Interviews www.micdropmoments.net

What do you do when a client asks for an interview on the air or on your podcast? Or, what do you do when an AE or manager tells a client they can be on your show? It's one of the more difficult situations you face. Here's how to navigate these treacherous waters. Want to know how to "break the ice" and get traction quickly with a guest? Play GAMES. Games have never been more popular, and it has an added benefit for guest appearances and interviews: You get unexpected reactions from the guest and unique content that only YOU can provide! That gives it legs on social media, too! Watch this video and get more details on how to do it (with suggestions) from my new book Mic Drop Moments: The Playbook For Unforgettable Guest Interviews. , , , , , www.micdropmoments.net.

Last time we heard from Nielsen, they announced that three minutes (instead of five) qualified for a quarter-hour (15 minutes) of listening. That was well-received by the radio community because it reflects well on radio listening in general. But now they've announced that panelists will remain active for 38 months. That's three years. In what universe is that acceptable? Nielsen is screwing you - again. For details on how The Ratings Game is played, get my programming guide: The Ratings Game here:

Here's a magic trick for personalities and podcasters...and it's so simple, you'll wonder why you never tried it before. This is one of the easiest methods of advancing a conversation with a cohost, guest, or caller. It's called Mirroring...and I explain it in this video...and go into much more detail with examples in my new book Mic Drop Moments: The Playbook For Unforgettable Guest Interviews. www.micdropmoments.net

Nothing sends a personality into convulsions or night terrors faster than the dreaded sponsor/client/charity/organizer interview. What do you do when the client expects to come on the air (probably because an AE implied "Sure, it's no problem?').

Here's info on how to deal with it from my new book Mic Drop Moments: The Playbook For Unforgettable Guest Interviews. Get the book (and more videos) at www.micdropmoments.net.

Your Best Content Goes First!

When you launch a topic, introduce a guest, or conduct an interview...how do you start? Do you save your best moments for the "grand finale?" That's a mistake. Try starting with the best moment instead. See what happens.

Here's a quick video tip from my new book Mic Drop Moments. For more, go to https://www.micdropmoments.net.
