YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME. Picked a restaurant expecting a normal dinner, not an attitude and a scam. Service was already trash, waiter barely acknowledged us, eye rolls when we asked for refills, and food took forever like we personally inconvenienced them by existing.
Then the check comes. $15.90 large party charge. For TWO people. No warning, no explanation, no sign on the wall. When we questioned it, the waiter got snippy and acted like we were stupid for even asking, as if couples are suddenly considered a crowd now.
At that point it wasn’t even about the money, it was the audacity. Bad service, rude staff, and sneaking fees onto the bill hoping nobody notices. Sitting there seriously wondering if this is lawsuit territory, because charging fake groups and treating customers like garbage shouldn’t be a business model.

Went here thinking it’d be a chill breakfast and everything just went fu***ng downhill.

Three of us. THREE. And somehow breakfast turned into a $313 disaster like we ordered gold plated eggs. $22 avocado toast, $12 WATER, coffee priced like rent, then management has the audacity to slap on auto gratuity and VAT like they didn’t already bend us over.

Nothing tasted life changing, nothing justified the price, it was just overpriced plates and vibes of you’re on vacation so shut up. And the best part? They still leave space for extra tip like this whole bill wasn’t already a scam approved by management. This isn’t luxury, it’s lazy pricing and greedy management hoping no one calls them out. Completely fu**ed

buffet for two $58 for the food and $5.80 tax, bringing the total to $63.80. The server only brought tea and coffee; everything else we got ourselves. So I tipped $2, because $1 per item feels fair for the actual work done. Last year I would’ve blindly tipped $10 just because it was “expected,” but not anymore. We need to stop following made-up rules and tip based on real effort, not guilt.

ORDERED DOORDASH AND ENDED UP WITH A CAR IN MY GARAGE. Before the app even said “delivered,” I heard a crash so loud it shook the house. I open the door and the driver is standing there panicking while her car is literally inside my garage. She forgot to put it in park and just watched it roll straight through a door I replaced less than a year ago. Panels bent, tracks destroyed, car halfway past where my tools used to be.
Then the excuses start. No delivery insurance. Personal policy doesn’t cover it. DoorDash support sending copy-paste sympathy messages while I’m staring at thousands in damage and a garage that won’t close. Everyone involved suddenly has a reason why it’s not their problem.
I didn’t order food to get a construction project and a headache for the holidays. If this is the risk of tipping well and staying home, I’m done letting random drivers turn my house into a drivethru.

This is officially becoming a pattern and I’m over it. The last time I ate out, I was almost $80 overcharged, and now it happened again at a completely different restaurant.

This time my bill was $109.63. Service was mediocre slow drinks, barely checked on us, and took forever to bring the check. I still left a $4 tip, making the total $113.63, and I took a photo of the receipt just in case.

Good thing I did, because my card was charged $123.63 instead. An extra $10 added without permission.

I contacted the restaurant and they refunded the full tip, so now the server got nothing. The manager said he’d talk to her and even asked for the receipt photo so he could check other transactions. He admitted most people probably don’t notice these things.

I don’t know what’ll happen next, but this is exhausting. If you want more money, don’t sneak it onto someone’s bill. Check your receipts because clearly some people are counting on you not to.
