Didn’t expect to cry singing this. Dangerous and HIStory were the MJ albums I really grew up on (and to a lesser extent, Bad). I never understood why MJ’s masterpiece Earthsong didn’t chart at ALL in the USA despite being a #1 hit in many other countries. The reason (I recently discovered) was infuriating. The desperation, grief and anger in his song, silenced in his own country because record labels thought we were too selfish and stupid to care, I guess.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve regularly posted any music content. This is because I was ill for three years as some of you know. And dealing with injuries off and on. I notice it’s been affecting my followers. Guess a lot of you don’t like when I share the filmmaking side of my creative career?

Well, I won’t be stopping that nor denying my multi-hyphenate tendencies. BUT, watching the Michael Jackson biopic truly inspired me. I watched it again alone and plan to go a third time next week too. I can’t explain how much it fueled me to get back to the musical talents and gifts God gave me and stop wasting them. Expect a lot more music on this account, as well as beautiful harmonies at my music group The 🩷

Wow! SagebrushHollow has moved into the Top Ten for the ReelShort vertical impact contest! Please watch the first ten episodes (90 seconds each) and help us hold onto our 7th overall ranking (4th in Romance and 3rd in Beyond Genres, for it being a western fantasy).

Fun history: the Lunas have healed the folks of Sagebrush Hollow since Honeyspell Farm broke ground in the late 1700s of Old California. Gia is the eldest of the youngest Luna generation and struggles to maintain operations after the mysterious disappearance of her mother, and her sisters moving out to find jobs to send money back home. Even her fledgling baking powers and trusty immortal dog familiar Boba are not enough to thwart the scheming step-dad and step-sister duo: Eddie and Cindy Sutter. Can Gia, with the help of her ranch hand friends, save the farm? Or will she have to give up and sell to her handsome ex cowboy farmhand, Billy Lee Gomez who left, made good, and has returned as a rich CEO trying to buy the farm right out from under her? And why is he really there?

It feels good to be so creative again. Submitted my trailer for SagebrushHollow to ReelShort TV yesterday and awaiting approval. I’m also writing a book adaptation for this cozy western romance (with a touch of magic) with author A.D. Reece as we speak. Her own debut novel comes out in 28 days, Wayward Magic with Plush and Regal publishing House. So make sure to go preorder and support local authors!

Where the wind blows across the Alpine highlands and down through SagebrushHollow, you can find an enchanted place called Honeyspell Farms. Sure, it’s seen better days. Times got tough when the Luna Family matriarch disappeared in a lake accident years ago. Since then, the eldest daughter tried her best to keep things running as her sisters left to the big city to try to make money to send back home. It didn’t help when the ungrateful Sutters kept skimming money from payroll until the Gomez brothers (and uncle) could take no more. They took off too, leaving precious few left to run the farm. It seems these days the only constant is little Boba, the maltipoo who holds the hearts of those left behind and gives them courage to keep fighting another day to keep the 200-year legacy of the Lunas alive on their ancestral land.
