This past week our President Audrey Patterson had the opportunity to participate in a powerful workshop on Ho’oponopono, the traditional Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness.
While it may seem far from the typical tools of business, Ho’oponopono offers a meaningful reminder of the importance of accountability, empathy, and emotional clarity in both leadership and team dynamics. The practice centers around four simple but profound phrases: I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.
In a fast-paced professional world, it’s easy to overlook the human side of our work. This workshop encouraged deep reflection on how we take responsibility for our roles in communication, decision-making, and even conflict resolution.
Taking time to nurture emotional intelligence and cultural wisdom can be just as impactful as any strategic tool. Audrey was grateful for the chance to integrate these insights into my professional journey and share them with others.
