🏠 75+ Years of Changing Lives in San Diego

For more than 75 years, Father Joe’s Villages has been a trusted part of the San Diego community, working toward one powerful mission: to prevent and end homelessness, one life at a time.

What began in 1950 with a small downtown chapel has grown into a comprehensive network of housing and support services that helps more than 2,000 people each night.

But the work goes beyond providing a place to stay. Father Joe’s Villages takes a holistic approach, connecting neighbors with housing, healthcare, childcare, employment support, and other resources designed to help them build stability and move toward self-sufficiency.

Its work is grounded in five core values: Compassion, Respect, Empathy, Empowerment, and Dignity — a CREED that reflects the belief that every person deserves to be treated with care and respect.

From its early beginnings to its continued impact across San Diego, Father Joe’s Villages demonstrates what is possible when a community comes together to create pathways toward stability and a brighter future.

GB Magazine is proud to recognize organizations making a lasting difference in the lives of San Diegans.
