After our recent experience this past Saturday, I am now of the 2 year old school... buy new steers at 2yrs old rotate the 2yo to the rear... and do it every 2 years... you will end up with your oldest tires 6yrs old... assuming a 6 tire coach... and even 6-8yo used tires are worth $100-$150ea to dump truck guys... so it seems 2 tires every 2 years would be somewhat cost effective and would not kill the budget? Let me toss out a few other thoughts... "stuff we leave out on the counter that might "travel well" but might try to kill you in the event of a mishap... that big wood block full of Knives in the kitchen area ...BAD... laptops... BAD... amazing we use an electric 2 burner induction cook top that sits on the cover of our 3 gas burners we never use... that big heavy thing stayed in place... while the freezer door and microwave door ended up in the front of the coach... the other thing that is a huge concern is the front overhead cabinets... they could have been lethal... they all came down and in before they left out of the front... I do think having the entry step cover up helped reinforce that area in front of the passenger seat... BTW i was belted in... my wife was NOT.. as she had just put some water in the dogs bowl and was just returning to her seat... she ended up on the floor under the dash in front of the right seat... in this case I believe it saved her life... as I watched the upper cabinets come loose and swing into the right seat before they left out through the windshield... i say "swing" because they were attached only by all the wires that went to the control panel that is above the right seat... Just random thoughts as I process the last few days events.
