The gun appears to be a BL 7.5 inch Mk III naval gun from the decommissioned battleship HMS Swiftsure (1903), being moved into position along the coast in Flanders, 1917.

It is being towed by a 105 horsepower Daimler-Foster tractor, and is on an 8-wheeled truck designed by Admiral Sir Reginald Bacon for moving 12 inch naval gun carriages, and built by Foster's.

The Couzinet 70 "Arc-en-Ciel" was a French tri-motor long-range aircraft designed by René Couzinet and first flown in 1932. Famous for its sleek design and rainbow livery, it was piloted by Jean Mermoz in pioneering South Atlantic mail flights.

It completed eight transatlantic crossings and demonstrated the viability of long-range air mail routes. Modified into the Couzinet 71, the aircraft saw limited service before being destroyed in 1940. Though only one was built, it was a significant step in early transoceanic aviation.
