If you know me, you know I poured a little extra heart into producing this one...
As someone who grew up dancing, I know firsthand that what audiences see on stage is only a small part of the story. Behind every performance are months of rehearsals, sacrifices, friendships, nerves, excitement, costume making, and countless hours spent perfecting every detail. Some of my favorite childhood memories were made in the dance studio, backstage hallways, and competition venues—which is why documenting this journey felt so personal.
Over the past couple months, I had the honor of following Rahiti Polynesian Dance as they prepared for Tahiti Fete Hawaii/San Jose -- one of the most celebrated Tahitian dance competitions in the world (and the largest in the U.S.)
The result is a mini-doc that goes beyond the performance and into the heart of the people, culture, and traditions that make it all possible.
