After transitioning to events, she established her own luxury event design firm, overseeing multimillion-dollar budgets, collaborating with VIPs, booking national talent, and orchestrating events ranging from intimate gatherings to thousands of guests. Recently, Bettina served as the Senior Director of Corporate Events for a leading healthcare corporation, where she produced 160 events annually while helping to maintain the corporation's award-winning culture. Bettina's strength lies in her natural eye for elegance and style, meticulous organization, and her passion for celebrating diversity and foreign cultures. Bettina’s creative work seamlessly intertwines with her own travel journeys. She’s traveled to 4 continents, 26 countries, 36 US states, and lived in Paris, NYC, and New Zealand. She’s taken two year-long travel sabbaticals giving her experience and personal insights into a variety of global destinations and properties worldwide. It’s finally here, and it’s every bit as spectacular as promised!

They’ve long been known for their beautiful, iconic trains, but now Orient Express is taking that same sense of style and glamour to the sea aboard the largest sailing yacht ever built and an entirely new way of traveling.

Corinthian began sailing this summer, and the numbers barely capture it. Three masts rising 328 feet. Just 54 suites across 722 feet of yacht. Five restaurants overseen by Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, plus a 1930s-style speakeasy and a Parisian cabaret at sea.

The interiors reinterpret the golden age of ocean liners with contemporary French craftsmanship, and the itineraries are refreshingly flexible: voyages of one to four nights that combine without repeating a single port.

The Mediterranean season runs through October, then the yacht crosses to the Caribbean for winter. First seasons of ships like this become the ones people talk about for years.

Most people don’t think of Africa as a beach destination, but it has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Pair that with a safari and you really do get the best of both worlds.

Big anniversary? First trip without the kids? A honeymoon that feels worth the long journey? Mauritius is one of my favorite answers.

Set in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Africa, Mauritius has long been a favorite for Europeans looking for a special beach escape. One&Only Le Saint Géran is a standout, set on its own private peninsula along the island’s northeast coast, with a calm lagoon on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other.

That setting gives you the best of both. Calm water for swimming, sailing, and paddleboarding, plus the beauty and drama of the open ocean.

The service is another big part of the experience. Butlers are included with every room category, the kids club is genuinely well done, and the resort has been one of the island’s most iconic luxury hotels since opening in 1975.

Five places on Earth that don't feel like Earth. Consider this my favorite category of trip to plan.

Iceland: black sand beaches, steaming lava fields, and ice caves glowing blue from within.

Namibia: red dunes the height of skyscrapers in the world’s oldest desert.

Bolivia: the Salar de Uyuni, a salt flat that turns into a perfect mirror of the sky.

What makes a safari feel truly private? Usually, the size of the lodge.

Monwana Game Lodge in South Africa’s Thornybush Private Game Reserve has just a handful of suites. Meals feel like a house party. And the guiding team learns exactly what you want to see.

One of the questions I get all the time: Is a safari really worth it?

Short answer? Absolutely YES!!! Okay, I know that wasn’t exactly a short answer but I am really passionate about safaris.

My one caveat is that it needs to be planned the right way. What most people don’t realize is just how much the overall experience depends on the details behind the scenes:

The time of year you go.
The camps you choose.
How many stops you include.
How long you stay in each place.
How you move between them.

And just as important, what do you picture when you think about your safari? Do you want big game drives and lots of wildlife, something more relaxed and intimate, a mix of adventure and downtime, or a trip that combines safari with another destination? That vision should shape the entire itinerary.

Safari logistics are layered, and the right choices can completely change how the trip feels. This is definitely not a trip I would piece together without a thoughtful plan.

Did you know one of Africa's greatest safaris happens almost entirely on water?

“Is a Nile cruise actually worth it?” I get this question constantly. My answer: on the right boat, it might be the best hotel in Egypt. And it moves.

Historia Boutique Nile River Cruise sails between Luxor and Aswan, designed around the glamour of 1920s river travel with a fully contemporary interior. Around 40 cabins, floor-to-ceiling windows facing the water, a rooftop pool deck, and a spa on board.

A few things travel advisors wish more travelers knew:

The best trips rarely come together at the last minute. The rooms everyone wants, the best guides, the restaurants worth planning around, those tend to get reserved well in advance.

A great local guide can completely change how a destination feels. The difference between “seeing a place” and truly understanding it often comes down to the person showing you around.

Another thing I’ve learned after planning a lot of trips: the most memorable days usually aren’t over-scheduled. Some of the best moments happen when there’s time to wander or follow a recommendation you heard earlier that day.

And maybe the biggest one. When you work with a travel advisor, you’re not just booking hotels. You have someone quietly paying attention to the details before you leave and while you’re traveling. Flights change. Weather shifts. Plans evolve. Behind the scenes, we’re making sure the trip keeps moving smoothly so you can stay focused on the experience.

Ready to experience Spain beyond Madrid and Barcelona? This is the property I keep circling back to.

Abadia Retuerta LeDomaine is in the Douro Valley of Castilla y León, about two hours from Madrid, and one of those regions that hasn't made it onto most Spain itineraries yet.

The estate covers nearly 1,800 acres; the vineyards produce some of the most decorated wines in the country; and the property's restaurant, Refectorio, has held a Michelin star for years.
