Homeless Help Chula Vista Parks

Although homelessness is a concern for many local cities, including Chula Vista, a unique collaboration between the City and the Work for Hope rehabilitation program has offered a source of hope to many homeless individuals. The partnership employs vetted homeless individuals to paint City park restrooms, picnic gazebos and benches.

La Catrina is one of the most recognizable and beautiful symbols of the Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico. She is the tall and elegant female skeleton wearing a fancy hat with feathers and a beautiful dress. Underneath all the stylish clothing, she is just a smiling skeleton. You may have seen her in various contexts because the striking and unique makeup has become very trendy on Halloween and November 1st and 2nd which is Day of the Dead. Chula Vista, CA – On Wednesday, September 9, the Sweetwater Authority (Authority) Governing Board received a presentation from A Reason To Survive (ARTS) on how grant funding from the Authority will be used to educate the community on water issues. In May of 2019, the Authority awarded a Water Efficiency Education Program Grant (WEEP Grant) to ARTS for their A Avenue Mosaic Wall (Mosaic Wall). The $5,000 grant provided funding for signage to accompany the Mosaic Wall.
