A local dance crew brought together over a hundred spectators and breaking competitors to their third annual Force of July breaking event in Civita Park last Saturday.

Full Force San Diego founder Eddie "Eddie Styles" Gutierrez and his breaking crew came up with the idea for Force of July after several years went by without any Fourth of July weekend breaking events bringing people together.

Last weekend, Force of July kept the summer breaking tradition alive through a full-day of contests.

Citizens arrested while documenting ICE activity were freed on Thursday after spending a night in port of entry cells.

The three U.S. citizens were charged with a felony count of assaulting, resisting or impeding federal officers, but they were released on their own recognizance pending further hearings in the cases.

“They made us believe that they were kidnapping us and disappearing us,” activist Jeane Wong said.

To mark World Refugee Day, a delegation of interfaith religious leaders attended a number of immigration court hearings in downtown San Diego on Friday after Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have made numerous arrests inside the hallways of the Edward J. Schwartz Federal Building in recent weeks.
